How do you define "good driver?"
How do you define what a good driver is? Is a good driver one who adheres to the laws? One who has never been in an accident? One who has never caused and accident? One who has never been pulled over?
Opinions vary, but I'd like to hear how you define "good driver." I'll start. A good driver to me is defined as one who does his best to not be a burden on others. Don't create situations where other drivers have to react quickly to your unusual moves. A good driver drives predictably. Use your mirrors, turn signals, etc. A good driver follows the flow. If the traffic is moving slowly, he drives slowly. If the traffic is moving quickly, he drives quickly. Don't be the outlier. And most of all, don't be the cause of accidents to others. Want to wrap your new Porsche around a tree because you're doing 120 mph at 1am? Fine be me. Just don't rear-end me because you're reading texts at a stop sign. |

Ask my insurance company lol. I have the good driver discount.
I’m assuming it’s because I’ve never had a ticket, made a claim, or been in an at fault accident,....and my age. |

-Never drive with anything more than a mild buzz, hopefully not from alcohol.
-Help the other drivers; they suck! -Take a car control course, especially if you haven't been driving motor vehicles since, say, ten yrs old or earlier. -Don't be afraid to accelerate out of a group of highway SUVs. -Make that accident at 15yrs old be your last! Always know where everyone is. Pan back and forth between all mirrors and ahead constantly. Always anticipate their next move. Always leave an out. Never drive side by side with another vehicle if it can be avoided. If you can’t pass a truck, hang back until you can. Never hang in his blind spot. Drive into the future, always know your next move. It’s like a game of chess. Keep a constant speed. Be prepared. Driving is only focus. Im not eating, drinking, talking on phone, reading or whatever else. I’m driving. Always blink, I do 3 blinks for lane change and always advance warning for turns. Whoever hits their brake before putting on their left blinker should be shot in my opinion. Lol. Always have a clean windshield, inside and out. I’m sure I’ll come up with more.

Dont tailgate
Use your signals Observe the 3 or 4 cars in front of you on the highway Observe oncomming traffic on divided roads Stop for people in crosswalks, observe extra caution around schools, playgrounds, slow child signs. KEEP your vehicle in good operating condition (without parts that might fly off at speed) And my biggest city driving no no that enrages me--DO NOT "Block the Box" (Enter an intersection blocked with turning traffic) |

Many of you brought up soon excelling points, so I'll just add one more.
- Be courteous to other drivers and realize that we all share the road so you running 5 mins late, or that tweet is not more important that everyone else commuting at the same time the distracted or selfish driver we are all so familiar with.
