What are your initial thoughts about X5 vs XC90? Ride handling, interior quality etc? I am just curious because before buying X5 I was also thinking XC90 D5, but 2.0 engine was holding me back...I´ve never driven XC90 D5, but what I read was that there is lack of power for such a big vehicle, especially in high speeds!

Hi
Volvo is def a level below BMW thats my thought. XC 90 only 2 litres and the lagging while driving annoyed me heaps either in low speeds or high speed. Interior quality not fond of Volvo neither. You really feel the stiff with Bimmer but Volvo is average, no difference than driving a Mazda i think |

Currently driving an XC90 T8. Before ordering the car, I test drove the D5, and was disappointed. Loved the looks, but the engine felt too light, and the sound of it did not match the budget, that was my impression. The dealer convinced me to test the hybrid T8. After 15 seconds I decided to go for it. Battery and engine work together very nice, ride is smooth, I would recommend the air suspension though.
I love the exterior, I love the clean interior. Even though some parts do feel a bit plastic .... Looking for a new car as the lease ends in June, and after testing/considering a number of 'tax-friendly' spacious options, I ordered a 45e. Not that I was in love with the looks at first sight, but it is by far the most luxurious feeling I had, just by setting myself behind the wheel. Kept coming back to the X5, just had to go this route. I now have to wait until september, hoping the longer term driving experience will be at least equal to the Volvo
