Be careful when passing
Hey guys I just wanted to let you know what just happened to me. I was in Highlands Ranch and stuck behind some slow cars. There was an brand new AMG Mercedes behind me. So when I saw my chance, I punched it to get around the slow cars before the lane ended and the Merc behind me did the same. Well as soon as I got to the front I saw red and blue. Guess what it was! My V1 never went off and the cop pulled me and the Merc over. He sited us both for racing and for doing 108 in a 45. I didnt realize how fast I was going. That was even in 3rd gear! We were lucky he didnt take our cars and take us to jail. So, now I have to go to court for that ticket. Both violations are 12pts so I might be loosing my license. That really sucks!!

Sorry to hear that man. Triple digit speeds on the road and cops will always end in a bad day.

Jesus Sid, that blows! How did he clock what speed you were going? Hopefully the Judge is decent to you and knocks some of those points off...just make sure you try and get that racing charge off, because it sounds like that was not the case at all.

He clocked the other guy as he flew by me and just gave us both the same speed. It really fucking sucks!

Sad for you, hope it all works out.
I had a similar experience recently with a better ending. Coming home from Denver last week I was stuck behind a truck in the left lane who just wouldn't move over, so when traffic cleared on the right, I punched it. Just as I got around him and merged back left there was a trooper sitting in the median. I was going an indicated 98 mph! I didn't hit the brakes or anything figured I was caught and just merged back right when it was clear. The good news for me was that he didn't pursue, though I can't imagine why not. You build speed fast in these cars and it is easy to get well beyond the posted speeds before you know it. |

Get a lawyer ASAP.
I did when I had a similar issue. Yes stupid, yes learned lesson. But got mine dropped to 20 over, paid fines, 1yr driving probation ( 1 violation in that year gets you a lost license) but I keep my license till I mess up again. Drive like an old lady for that year and learn from mistakes we all make them. Without my lawyer I would have been screwed. |

That really blows, Sid. I agree that you should probably think about getting a lawyer. Let us know how it turns out.
Just out of curiosity, did he radar or laser the other guy? They seem to be using lasers more and more around here.

Definitely get a lawyer, preferably the best in town at this sort of stuff. I got pulled over for doing 93 in 65 plus reckless driving and driving with an expired license- I know, I know, - just plain being dumb. But this attorney had all those charged dismissed somehow. It cost me quite a bit, but well worth it.

I just got done with an incident of street racing although mine was totally different, get a lawyer that has some cases on street racing and you should be fine if you have a clean record. I got off with 30 hrs community service and a class of defensive driving. Still costed me a grand though
