low oil every 3 weeks. w.t.f.

For the past 3 months, my car is burning oil like crazy. every 2-3 weeks, my "low oil" light comes on, saying to add +1 Litre. I bring it to autowest and they usually refill it on the go.. but now i go to BJ, and they are saying they will charge me for this service....

was wondering if anyone noticing this problem? i am at 16k, 1 year owning car, and not even first oil change -_-.. should i demand for a oil change?

wtf.... 16k and no oil change...? u should do the oil change....
O well... BMW said it is like 2XXXX for the first oil service...
So you have to pay if you want to do it earlier...

i think they can do low milage oil change once a year. They changed mine at 16k for free

they will do it if its 1 year too ....... but oil every 3 week seem like something wrong(by lookin at ur km, u dont drive that much) ....i would get that check

i will go tmmrw to autowest and ask what they can do. but ya, i think i need oil change, i open oil cap, oil is like black now haha.

Whichever comes first, service light indicator or 1 year, you should be able to get your oil changed. I got mine done at 1 year (approx 17000km on the odo) at BJ BMW 2 yrs ago.

Ask for Kyle at Autowest. He's the best imo.

Just to add, I do my oil changes at every 6500-7000km.

1 year or 25,000km; whichever comes first you get a free oil change and they will change oil filter. dont let them punk you!

Forget the oil change. You have much more serious problems. Demand that they fix the oil consumption problem under the warranty. Is your engine burning the oil, or do you have a leak?

If you loss 1L of oil on every 1000 km, BMW should replace your engine entirely!

i called today, will have an appointment on thursday... hopefully i get this problem resolved.

dont think oil leak? cause my garage floor never has any oil residue..

Too bad. A leak is usually easy to fix. You may be looking at a new engine. Keep us informed
