Non-Laser Headlight inner bulb functions?

Hi guys,

I got a M3 recently that didn't have the laser lights. I was playing around with the light switches but I don't think the inner light does anything or lights up? Can you guys confirm what it does or does it only function for laser lights only and is just a dud for non-laser lights? I attached a picture below to show which light I'm talking about:

FYI. Inner headlights on 2018-2020 F8x with OEM non-adaptive LED headlights are also non-functional.

I also wanna know more like if the inner lights can be coded on. I also wanna know if LED headlight brightness can be coded. Alot of other manufacturers code how bright the low beams are same with DRLs.

I honestly feel like low beam and high beam brightness can be coded for better lighting no matter what type of lights the vehicle is equipped with.

Can headlamp intensity be coded for led low beams I know it would probably affect longevity if you can increase DRL other i don't see why low beam bulbs or tail lights can't be increased

You are correct I shined a flashlight into my headlamp assembly and the inner headlamp is definitely a black plastic dummy😢. And you're telling me led intensity cant be changed. Oh well I choose carbon seats and driver assist plus over laser lights because that's all I could locate in a 22 and I wanted the other package more ill just need to live with my decision.

You can buy the lasers. But they are like 6,500 through bmw parts. Sometimes I see them on ebay also. I know I miss the lasers on my previous G80.
