Question Fuel Pump Also Effect 328?

i might be losing it but recently my dad's 328 takes noticable while to crank and start compared to my 335i which is just instant. it used to be like this and i thought it was the cold weather but it was a great 55 today and same problem so i am wondering...

328 doesn't have a fuel pump? so it's def bad gas (mobile/exxon).

It has a fuel pump just not the same one as the 335

No. This is a 335i issue only. The 328i doesn't use the same fuel pump. You have bad gas.

The 335 is blessed (cursed!) with two pumps. One in the tank, one on the engine for direct injection.

It is possibly just bad gas, but could be a pump - any fuel pump can fail, my E46 did, but the long crank is typically a 335 symptom, the others tend to fail more dramatically and just stop working. Get a full tank of good gas and see if it goes away.

We're not referring to a certain brand.

Every gas station is prone to get a bad batch of gas once in a while.

Do you take short trips on the 328? It could also be carbon build-up. If you take a short trip and the engine never reaches its proper operating temp then before you shut the car down, rev the engine up and shut the engine off while it's still revving high. This will purge more of the "dirty" substance out.
