Pre LCI X3 discounts in the UK

Hi guys,

New to this thread, was hoping for some advice.

I'm looking to buy a new pre LCI BMW G01 X3 xDrive20d M Sport. Given the LCI is due to arrive over here around November time, and speaking to a dealership who admitted they were keen to get rid of incoming stock of the current/outgoing model (most likely sales speak to entice me), what kind of discount do people think are achievable?

Dealerships seem to be offering a finance contribution of around 6.8% of the list price with APR of 2.9% - I'm tempted to offer 25% (would include the finance contribution) off the list price and then see where we end up, is this reasonable or unrealistic/not worth attempting?

I'm also conscious that the current shortage of new stock could also have an impact on how much discount can be achieved.

We're in the South East of England, if that helps. Any advice is appreciated, many thanks in advance.

Quoted 11.8% off the same model but LCI model, so assume you should be able to get at least this, possibly more, on pre LCI depending on the dealer stock situation.

Also, on the finance quotes check the bit at the end that shows delivery charges and VED etc. I've had multiple quotes with VED being several hundred £ higher because they are using the non RDE2 rate when the car is RED2 certified, as required by law for new registrations from Jan 21.

Thanks for letting me know, sounds like a decent discount for the LCI. Thanks for the advice on the VED too.

Recently got a 14.7% discount PCP deal on an LCI M40i putting a £12k deposit in.

I will be paying £30 less per month than I would have paid on my ill fated April order. The residue price seems to fluctuate monthly from BMW finance which possibly affects the discounts on offer and the margins the dealers get to play with.

Can I just check that discount was for the next model and not the current? I’d so who did you go through as I’m about to jump out of an X5 and want to go into either a new X3M or M40i. The harsh drive is swinging towards the M40i although the info would suggest an update to the adaptive suspension on the M car...

The same happened with my LCI M40i order. I’ve been watching prices for a while and was disappointed with the increase in the lci price, driven somewhat by the reduction in GFV. Happy that I waited until July to order when the GFV increased again, so trigger pulled.

My only dilemma now is the colour. Was considering Brooklyn grey but not having seen one yet put some doubt in my mind. Have gone for phytonic blue for now, with the understanding that colour can be changed before the build date. Just a long wait now.

I don't have the confidence to order an X3M as the last one I test drove put me right off with that hard ride. I hear the M40i is much better but the 18% discount is attractive.

Can you say how much discount you got? I follow Tony Lewis inHeathrow who seems to offer some competitive packages.

I was able to get approximately 16% off the car price and options, obviously the other bits like registration and ved are not discounted. This was through BMW affinity scheme. I also had some quotes from Tony and he was competitive on numbers to. I stuck with Park Lane in the end who’d be very patient with me since I started looking back in March.

2021 or prior year? If it wasn't a 2021, you might try again with that MY. It was enough of an "improvement" over the 2020 I test drove to skip getting the MSS Urban spring kit on my 2021 X3MC.
Did it become plush in comfort mode? Definitely not.

Same here and same dealership.

My spec - https://configure.bmw.co.uk/en_GB/configid/a192tj97

Will hopefully get to view the M-Sport Seats and Brooklyn Grey paint before my build gets locked in.

Who is your salesman at PL if you dont mind me asking?

Keeping a keen eye on this thread. 16% is a great discount. I managed to find about 12% but just couldn't justify trading in mine as the GFV was shocking.

Lots of people have mentioned Park Lane, but never tried them.

What did they do about a trade in price for your current car?

Park Lane we’re dreadful for me, by far the worst trade in price for my mini, almost insulting.

I’ve had my M40i for 2.5 years, and with current residuals thought I’d go in and see what was on offer.

Have plumped for a X3M LCI, factory order only, but got I think is pretty good deal. £10k equity, and 15% discount on the X3M. Added in a deposit to get the monthlies down to £450.

X3M is pretty well specced as standard, so just added the Tech+ pack. Did choose Brooklyn Grey with Sakhir Orange interior while at the dealer, but will change to Black Sapphire paint with black callipers to go full stealth.

That sounds like a great deal!

My M40i is 3.5 years old and I'm struggling to find anything to replace it. Residuals are high but not many offers on new cars!!!

I have just signed up for an LCI M40d. 28 months into a 4 year deal and have 8k equity on my current 40d, have went for Tanzanite blue, M sports seats, hk, and heated steering wheel. No idea when it will arrive but have agreed the 8k profit and if it increases they will honour that as well.

I had gone in with trying to see if I could get anything on an X5M, but nothing on show.

The salesman was surprised that on a facelift car, the deals for the X3M were pretty good. £6k chassis contribution, and a 5% contribution off list, before any negotiation.

Your deposit£624.00
Optional final payment£24682.24
Interest charge£4282.34
Amount of credit£49727.90
Cash price£50351.90
Total price (excluding any optional extras)£54634.24

So you managed 10% discount along with a 5% contribution (finance?) and on top of that £6K chassis contribution?

Thats got to be about £21k off a X3M LCI?

What is the GFV?

Not sure how you got to those numbers, but unfortunately not. I was able to get around 5% on top of the contributions from BMW. Just waiting for the revised finance documents to come through, as I changed my mind on mileage and term.
