Newbie getting a boost gauge

Hi everyone!

I am shopping for a good boost gauge, I have some concern before making the purchase:

1. what are the choices out there? those from vendors?
2. How good is prosport gauge? anyone has any experience on them?
3. comparing to defi, which one is better?
4. what are some of you guys' suggestion?
5. I've tried to search the DIY but nothing comes up, i remember there is that thread teaching you how to tap into everything, can anyone give me a hand?

Thanks in advance for all the helps!

It depends on how integrated you want the solution to be. There is no doubt the Rix vent gauge is the most OEM looking solution out there. The response is instaneous, the color is a perfect match spot on, the options are endless, etc. I ordered it and have enjoyed it from the day I got it. Most will agree he is also an amazing vendor to work with.

I use a Dynotune. It's a small digital readout. No peak recall or warning. It only taps switched power and ground so wiring is as easy as it gets. If your looking for something with all the bells and whistles, I'd have to say either the Rix gauge or the new Vishnu gauge would be the way to go.

Let me know if you are interested, I have them in stock ready to go... full plug and play solution, no wire taps, printed full color instructions and install video provided.

i know rixst3r is a great vendor and i love his first gauge pod design. However, i am not a big fan of number gauge as the jumping number tends to annoy me a lot.

1. anyone got any experience with defi?
2. rixst3r, do you sell defi?
3. do you still sell the gauge pod? not the vent kind.

I will be expanding to more products in the future, but at this time the digital gauge is all I sell, because even when I had an analog gauge option, 95% of all sales were digital, because its easier for most people to read.

Sorry!

I have Defi, nice gauge but sticks out like dogs balls, was however the best option back when I bought it.

Happy to sell it to you when Rix FINALLY gets the RHD version of his ready

i got an electronic one from prosport gauges...

best bang for buck imo, price is cheap, and the quality's not bad at all
mine sits at the zero line perfectly when its off and its accurate at boost.

the backlight can be a little bit brighter during the daylight but the optional cup shade (i dunno what its called haha) does its job.
during nighttime, its nice and bright, but not too bright to the eyes.

theres no recalibration and whatnot but its good for what its worth.

oh yea, for defi gauges, you need a control unit along with the gauges which makes it PITA, but ive never had any experience with it so i cant say anything.

Can those with defi or prosport or similar post pix of where you mounted the gauge. I've got a prosport sitting on my bar at home and I can't decide where/how to mount it. I really liked the Rix gauge but the $300+ price was too much for me.

would you guys expand on what are the parts that does not come with the gauge that you will have to order individually, and how hard is the installation?
