Looking for my next car, test drove a few......
I have Cayenne Diesel now and really like it. But sooner or later I will have to sell it for something newer. Test drove some cars and here is what I think.... Tesla Model Y is garbage for the most part. I just don't see myself driving it daily. Exterior is nice, interior space and cargo area are huge, but the quality of everything is ridiculously cheap and the screen is a gimmick that you almost never have to use (I would prefer button). I was pretty shocked by the quality of fake leather, it just felt really cheap and uncomfortable.
Then I drove Ford Mach E. Better then Model Y in quality, but still lots of very cheap stuff. Much less cargo space too. Dashboard layout is better. Premium felt slower then Model Y Long Range. I wasn't impressed. Perhaps Audi E-tron can be a winner here, will check it out next. Also drove RAM Limited Diesel. Was very impressed, exterior, interior, engine were all excellent. But it barely fits in my garage and I just don't see how I can park that thing in the city. Pretty expensive too at roughly $70k. Didn't drive but had some quality time in Genesis GV70....what a nice car, but nothing Special, no Diesel, no electric, not much performance either. And it's $65k too. So at this point maybe a used Etron or SQ8 or something (when they drop in price alittle) |

Why not a Cayenne E-Hybrid or Turbo E-Hybrid?

You seem to be all over the place from pickup trucks to EV’s to sedans.
How are you going to use this new vehicle? Daily driver seeing a lot of mileage? Leisure/weekend vehicle? Family hauler? What other vehicles are in your stable? |

All over the place because I like different cars. I haven't listed sedans there...I need more space. As much as I want sedan, I think I will have to settle for SUV. That said, I do have a few sedans in my search which I am considering only if I can get them cheap. RS6 is ideal, but too much $$$

I would have gotten either one if I was able to find one. I ended up with a Turbo Coupe and love it way more than I thought I would. I don’t know how but it seems to get better fuel economy than my Macan Turbo did. In fact it does everything better than the Macan a turbo did and I was thoroughly smitten with the Macan Turbo. Now that the Turbo GT will be coming, I can’t imagine what that will be like since the Turbo is already almost scary fast. I could probably get a tune and have similar output to the Turbo GT since they share the same engine (obviously internal upgrades). |

I'm of the philosophy that if there's already one SUV in the household, then the other should be a sport sedan or sports car. Of course I don't know your personal situation.
If you absolutely need to have an SUV, then your best bet are the Macan line, Stelvio line, or X3M. Those are the only SUVs I personally can tolerate.

It sounds like you maybe want a hybrid/EV? How about X5 45e? Spacious, practical, great interior and quality, and decent EV range without full on range anxiety for trips.
For full on EV's, the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq5 look to be very good, and there'll soon be a Genesis EV based on those two vehicles. The Audi SQ8 is a nice car however is pretty pricey, still has a lot of interior plastic (unless paying up for leather packages, and still getting plastic paddles) and lacks interior storage. I prefer the Cayenne GTS, but also a lot of $$$. Definitely would be nice to hear what you are looking for specifically, as the options are widely different. |

Stelvio.... I am afraid it will fall apart during test drive. I thought Alfa is one of the most unreliable cars on the market today, along with Land Rover. I really like new Defender but it's scary to own one. I don't have time to take it to service all the time.
As far as BMW, I don't like what they make currently. Genesis EV could be very promising if it's anything like GV70. New Macan is nice, I drove previous gen for over a month, base is junk, have to at least get loaded S, but it's way too small anyway. |

No source, read in some forum in Hybrid vs Diesel discussion. The reason I like diesel is because I can get 30-32 mpg on highway, my tank lasts me roughly 700 miles, and diesel cost close to 87. It's such a relief not to constantly fill up after my M235i

Try the X3 M40i.
Skip the X3 M/Competition—worst riding car in the BMW lineup. Diesel is a dead issue. |

I am also tracking pricies on GSF for my wife. She wants sedan. I drove Lexus SUVs as well.....not a fan. They should make RXF with V8 and I would buy it today

If you don’t care about gas mileage, 392 wrangler. I have a Macan GTS and it’s a great daily. Had a JL wrangler before that and it was also a great daily with incredible resale. I bought it brand new and just sold it for $3k more than I paid new for it after 3 years and 26k miles.

I'm sure it's somewhat blown out of proportion (as everything is on the internet these days) but I'm not sure it's fine. The amount of documents issues is hard to ignore. I'm sure there are plenty of Alfas out there problem free but there's probably a lot more with issues than you would see with almost every other brand outside of maybe Jeep or Land Rover.

So OP, it sounds like you need a larger (mid-size) SUV/Wagon, that is fun but frugal in price and mpg as well? Its getting difficult to keep up with what you are looking for. On one hand you suggested an E-Tron, but then also an SQ8, which are polar opposites.

OP I do think you should take the Stelvio out for a spin, you won't find an SUV that steers or darts around the road as quickly. But of course, interior/tech is not as refined as the Germans and there are limited engine options.

Don't get a SUV, most are really not worth it unless you absolutely need it. You should get a wagon. I would look at the E-Class wagons, the W213 E450 has been well received. The new Audi A6 Avant is quite nice from what I've seen as well. What is your budget?
