iDrive boost units

I noticed today that under Languages/Units in iDrive there are options for which units you would like to use to gauge boost (psi, bar etc.)

does this mean that without an aftermarket boost gauge you can see the boost pressure? or can your car just see it and it won't let you know

Yes i also noticed this, but this is the unit for the tirepressuremonitor system, but i dont know why because there is no menu where you can see the pressure in psi or bar
