M50i full of sand
When we added the X7 to our fleet it was because we have 3 little ones now and wanted a comfortable and safe vehicle without getting a suburban or van.
Problem is that I like to keep it perfect as with my other cars. We're headed to the beach with the little ones and will probably be driving on the beach at bit as well. I've never been able to get the sand out of our old suv after beach trips and I suspect it will be impossible to avoid the interior getting virtually filled with sand. Does anyone here have a good technique? Will I ever get the sand out? The old truck had interior details done, but sand always reappeared. Would love to hear some good advice. Thanks! |

You’ll never control it all but Baby powder helps.
Have the kids rinse off in the ocean or if there are showers where you are. Ultimately even after they are dried sand sticks to skin. Use powder on feet and legs which sucks up all the moisture and the sand just brushes right off. |

You'll never be able to get all the sand out. I did that last year and I'm still finding sand. I've vacuumed countless times. Even sent it to a detailer.
There's just no way to get all the sand out. I've just come to accept the fact that my X7 is the kid hauler and thus it will never be able to stay as clean as I like to keep my cars. Will just have to wait till the kids grow up and I get into my own car. |

I'm gonna bring a battery powered portable kid drenching machine of sorts to rinse everything off. It's clearly gonna be a waste of time, but I'll take a shot. Baby powder idea above is very interesting as well. Thanks for all the advice everyone! Airing down these run flat 22s and bombing down the beach in the X7 should be interesting. I imagine it will do just fine. |

Not a fan of sand so clean with a garden blower. Under 1-2 minutes, most of sand get out of the car and remaining to the deep where I will never see again. In 2-3 years, the new owner gets sand from 10 different beaches as extra bonus

We are currently in the Algarve, Southern Portugal with two dogs.
Their beaches have really fine sand so you can imagine what my trunk look like I have a boot liner covering the side and floor but how ever hard you try sand gets everywhere! The all weather OEM rubber mats do a good job up front as they have a raised lip around the sides so most of the sand collects on the mats. I find that the worst concern of mine is dust and sand that builds up on the paintwork every time we drive and park by the beach A good clean and vacuum when we return to the UK is on my thoughts.

The key is to prevent the sand from getting there in the first place. Buy a soft bristle 10” hand brush and whisk the sand off the kids and the chairs just before they enter the X7. Quick and painless. |
