Swapping out front air inlets

Would’ve loved the exterior CF pack but not for 5K. As a consolation, I got a pair of aftermarket front inlets from Alibaba for <$500.

Assuming they aren’t trash I’ll be replacing the mesh/grid inlets with the split inlets. Has anyone done this before? Paid a professional or DIY?

Thanks!

Would you post a link to those inlets?

My understanding is that the front bumper has to be removed in order to install them.
I'm sure it's not super hard, but the front bumper has camera and sensors that you have to be careful with when removing it. For that reason, I will personally have my local shop do the install for me when I decided to go for it.

The front bumper does need to be removed (I'll try to find the video).

Everyone thinks the $4,700 for the exterior CF is expensive. I have a small bubble on the clear coat on my left intake and it is being replaced under warranty. The cost of that part alone (at the dealer) is $2,200!

Edit:

Here's the link:

The bumper comes off easy but it's tedious. No risk with the sensors or camera.

Yeah the OEM exterior parts are ludicrous. Hence why I’m taking a risk with the overseas parts. But I did the same with my F80 and they looked awesome.

Video would be incredible! I haven’t been able to find any for the G80.

They are expensive but the quality is outstanding.
I can understand if that is not enough of a reason… still a lot of money.

Do you happen to have instruction somehow ? I attempted to remove bumper to install the front lip, but couldn't get it out. I have removed a lot of screws but unable to get sides off, especially the joint at the fender above the wheel, not sure why it still stuck there.

There are 2 8mm bolts hidden behind the wheel liner on each side of the bumper corner.
