Upshift Crack/Fart

Hi guys, and before I get roasted I should start by agreeing in that this is very childish but just some fun.

I was wondering if anyone knows a way to get the 6AT ZF to do cracks/Farts on upshifts, like the 8 speed does. Does anyone know how this is actually achieved and why it's done on the 8 speed but not the 6.

All in all I'd rather have a manual, but I want to at least make the auto more interesting. I've done an XHP tune on it and it's fantastic, but wanting that audible snarl or crack or "fart" on the upshift like the 8 speeds.

I'm pretty sure this is due to the tuning of the EWG cars and not the trans itself. Something about the cars pulling a lot of timing during shifts.

Maybe a good custom tuner could work something up for you......but cutting the throttle and pulling all that timing between shifts is really going to slow the car down.........and the automatic transmission probably isn't going to like it either.

But hey.....if you want a slow car that farts on upshifts.....I'm sure someone could help you out if you throw enough money at them 😁

My car will pop occasionally on upshifts but idk how to make it do it consistently. Have xhp stage 3 and the settings tweaked. Catless downpipes and my secondaries are blown out some but not blown all the way

Mine will do it if I grab an upshift just as traction control starts to intervene because it'll be pulling power because of wheel spin and then simultaneously for upshift so it does a massive crack. But was hoping it can be more consistent somehow

Mine does it even with traction control off

Yuppp thats kinda when mine likes to pop on upshifts. Mainly on 1-2 and 2-3 shifts.

The logic must exist somewhere as when a DSC/DTC event is active we get the upshift fart.
I have asked Ken AKA Wedge about this and he is not sure that this can be done but i keep my hopes up.
It's honestly high up on my list of things i'd like to get on this platform.
Wil make the auto sound a lot nicer.

You can turn the farts off in the DME for the DCT so you would be able to enable them for the slushbox, it's in the same part of the logic.

Not that anyone wants more farting cars driving around though.

Not sure about everyone else.....but when my car shifts, I want the break in power being applied to the tires to be as short and minute as possible.

Backing the throttle way off and reducing the timing during every shift just to get a little fart pop out the exhaust seems pretty pointless....... especially when the guy you are racing just passed you because he doesn't have lots of power reducing fart sounds between shifts.

lol, I don't think op realises the ZF6 isn't designed to "fart or crackle" on upshift like the ZF8, or that doing so will reduce performance between shifts.
