Am I the only one who doesn't really care for the 825M wheels?

Maybe there is just something wrong with my sense of taste? I don't even know what it is about them that I'm not a fan of, but I just don't think they look right on the G8X. Maybe I need to see them in person?

The solid black are probably the best looking ones, but the polished face bicolor.

Someone change my mind.

Harshly worded, as members here have surely chosen them, so you may not get the responses you are looking for but I'll chime in. For me, black wheels get lost on cars unless the sun is shinning on them and you are standing close. They could be the best designed wheels ever and it's tough to make out the detail.

I wasn't really looking for a certain response, and you're right, I've had about half a dozen cars with all black wheels, and the get completely lost. I ordered the 826M BiColor. Lets see how it goes.

Like most things it’s a matter of personal taste. Like Gfit said, I think all black wheels get lost against the tire. The 825M bi-color provides some contrast.

I debated on the bi-color vs the orbit gray 825s but I didn’t like the bright ring on the orbit gray wheels.

I like the 826 bi-color wheels but absolutely did not want to clean those things. Nope, nope and nope.

Either way, you got what you wanted and that’s what counts.

I like them a lot, so stoked I got them! Went for the Orbit Grey.

I don't need you to like them.

I don't hate them. I don't love them. Just kind of meh. I went with all black.

I'll probably be in the minority here, but I'm definitely a fan of the 825M bicolor. Personally, I think the intricacies of the wheel design in the polished/diamond-cut finish really pops whereas on the other (darker) wheel options they can get a bit lost in the wheel wells, especially from afar.

Also the 826's are being released on other models such as the X3M/X4M LCI, potentially making the 825's a more rare and model-exclusive design.

Now I am curious as to why you toned down the wording on the original post to make it less harsh?

Unless in absolutely direct light, I get the impression that even the bicolor 826 appear nearly black. Since I dislike black wheels, the 825 bicolor seem the best choice.

Also, I like how they appear more concave than 826. The brighter details, especially against anything other than white, also look better to me (again, just a general dislike for dark wheels)

Maybe I have to see the 825s in person, to be able to tell the concave. I like concave wheels, they look more aggressive.

I like the 826, but I hate cleaning mesh wheels so I went 825. I think black wheels look cheap and boring so wanted the bicolor. I liked them a lot more after seeing how concave they were. Whatever floats someone’s boat, though.

Im hoping a good bake on ceramic coating, coupled with CCBs and I wont have to clean them like standard Brembos. Which Ive had on at least half a dozen cars, and they always suck for brake dust.

Well, I had been on back to back 16 hour shifts, and I posted the original post like 2am, and I was probably overtired.

I didnt think it when I originally read it, but after you posted, I went back and re-read what I had written, and thought to myself, that you were definitely correct, and while I dont like them, other people have ordered them, and they arent the worst wheels, they just look like a wheel you'd put on a base model.

So, your post made me have a Jerry Maguire moment. Like he posted the manuscript, late at night, and left it for everyone to read, and then he was fired.

Too funny. One thing I learned (or still trying to learn) is never post when drinking but working 16 hours is killer too.

Yeah, I do it a few times a month, so, its not too bad. You have to watch out to not get too money greedy because your health could take a hit from it. I see people working their ass off, here, practically sleeping here, to make $300K a year. But its not worth killing yourself over.

Nobody can tell you there's something wrong with your taste, because it's YOUR taste and opinion. For what it's worth I agree with you, and every time I see a post of someone taking delivery with these wheels I can't understand for the life of me why they would pay $1,300 for them lol. However I totally get that preference is preference, and I'm sure there are people out there who dislike the black 826Ms that I ordered on mine.

(But still if I had to buy my car with the 825s on them for whatever reason, I would have a set of aftermarket wheels delivered and waiting before I even took delivery of my car )

I don’t like the 825’s either. Clearly a matter of personal preference though as some do prefer them.

I like the bi-color 825M wheels but two things swayed me to the bi-color 826M wheels:

1) I think the front 19" 825M wheel looks a tad too small on the front (from pics, I'm sure it's not an issue in person) as compared to the 19" 826M wheel

2) Not that it really matters for my use case, but the 826M is a lighter wheel than the 825M.

I do wish the 826M came in the 825M bi-color scheme and was brighter silver instead of the dark tint clear they use. To me, they did it right with the 666M - having a silver and a dark tint option.

Oh, shit. I didn't even see that they were more money, because I have never selected them for a build. And Im 100% with you. If the 825s came with the car and the 826 was the upgrade, I would either spring for the 826, or have a set of HREs waiting.

I wont get into the taste part as its personal and highly subjective. But the 825M's are not a 1300 dollar bump- I have them and here is the msrp sheet:

Both the 825M and 826M wheels are a $1300 option on the base 6mt cars... seems like they are included in the base price of the comps.
