Anyone delete the amber reflectors on the front bumper? I've seen kits around with a replacement piece that's body colored. I've heard it's a DOT requirement to have Amber reflectors specifically though. Also wondering if anyone's gotten pulled over or a fixit for something like this before.

I got them from IND. They're really essential to me. The amber looks brutal. I'm sure a friendly shop won't fail you for them and it'd be an easy swap to put them back in for the test. I don't think I've heard of anyone getting a violation for this. I've had no trouble anyway so far

I had them on my F80 and now my G80 with no issues. I also got them from IND. I highly doubt a cop will pull you over for them. Depending on how strict your state is on inspection maybe theyll fail you. But your on a new car sticker for years so shouldnt be an issue anytime soon.

I’ve done this to all my cars. Also all of my car buddies have as well. I see you’re in the Bay Area like me. I’ve had no issues or harassment with police on this matter ever. In SF you will get a fix it ticket for no front plate. Only park in parking garages to avoid this. Get the reflector replacements from IND and you are good to go!

You can also buy the vinyl wraps from eBay for like $15 and install in 2 min

I did vinyl on my car and my m8- nice, cheap, easy.

As for getting pulled over.... Ive been pulled over all my life in Cali and not once as the officer ever questioned the black out of the reflectors or paint match on any of my current or prior rides.

Its a non issue. I even have my amber light bulbs coded off in both M's too.

Do you have a link for the vinyl that you used? How are they holding up? I've used the IND painted reflectors for a couple cars, I might go the vinyl route this time.

They haven't had many holiday sales in the last year or so. I think they are having a hard enough time keeping up with the demand as it is now, even harder if they started offering site wide discounts.
