Dealer added an option that I did not ask for

Went though the configuration in person and signed,
Sales guy called to ask if I am really sure not to include this particular option (worth $3k+) in my final build. I refused.
Production number provided. on BMW tracking page, it was listed under "Added options" section. Called BMW, also confirmed.

For me, it's good to have option, but I really don't need it, not want to pay for it.

If the car comes with it, basically I will be forced to pay for this add-on. Never experienced this before. any suggestions?

What status is your build in? Until it goes into production with a VIN# I believe it can be changed by the dealer.

B&W speakers are worth the asking price.

What sort of paperwork did you receive when you placed the order without the option? I'd only pay for the quoted price, any additional features would be viewed as a bonus at no additional cost.

Web Configuration with MSRP on it.
I know it's a good system, but I'd rather bought something for home.
It's just a family hauler. We are expecting 5k-8k miles per year.
Debating if I should call.

Keep it and tell him to reduce your negotiated price by another $3K at delivery.

In the end, do what you need to do to feel whole. The X7 has such a serene atmosphere, the B&W system compliments the overall experience, even if you're only in the car for short periods.

Without BW system, by default, without additional $$, I will have Harman Kardon for M50i, is that correct?

I think that depends. Orders now can’t even get B&W - the default goes to standard audio which is below HK and unacceptable on this vehicle.

Really? How can I find out if my newly order M50i has at least HK system?

Funny that you had it and didn't want it and others on here have another thread where they want it and can't get it anymore. I would have kept it, it's a great system, I have never regretted buying it. Plus it lights up the speakers… sold!!!

M50i has HK. Only the 40i loses all options.

Yes. I signed sales price, taxes, fees agreement without BW ($3400) on it.

As others have said, it’s definitely worth the cost but since you have it in writing that you didn’t order it, I would definitely try to get it thrown in… or at the very least, as a (significant) discount.

I'd imagine the sales manager made your CA do it so they had a desirable car in inventory if you backed out of the deal, especially if you're talking about a 40i and not even having HK without the B&W option.
