So I’ve been reading a lot of these threads and keeping sort of a mental note as to who is delayed and why and from my “research” it appears that anybody who has the carbon bucket seats AND were originally a week 38 or later build week are the ones being delayed. For those of you who are actually IN production or already produced, can you verify if your car has carbon buckets and was delayed at all? And for those who are being pushed, can you verify if you have carbon bucket seats as an option?

And to clarify, this is only pertaining to the actual factory building/build week delays, not the stop sales or post factory delays. Let’s see if we can figure out what’s really causing this cause heaven knows BMW isn’t ever going to tell us anything.

No bucket seats and no delays here. Went into production overnight. On schedule. For now…..

been pushed several times already. my earliest production week was 39. i do not have carbon buckets on my build.

I was originally a week 35 build. Got pushed back 5 times to week 40. No carbon seats. G82 Xdrive, BSM, exec, park assist, drivers assist, laser lights, ventilated seats. I’m finally in paint booth w est. 10/7 completion. We’ll see if any stop sales… if you can make sense of all this more power to you.

order placed on august 14th, received allocation on the 28th, been in status 111 for the month. genius said i am scheduled for production week 43. i am now status 112. i check probably 2-3 times a day, it hasn't changed as far as I can tell, ie. at this point my scheduled production week hasn't changed and my status has been steady and not going back and forth.

So maybe the original reason it seems for builds pre week 40 being delayed were the laser lights but now it is the buckets. Or at least in the cases noted so far. Anyone else chime in! It’s possible I’m still wrong but the more data we have and the more minds we have thinking the better our chances to figure this out.

I was originally week 42 at time of order and everything has stayed true to schedule and I went into production last night.

I ordered my car on 7/14. Allocation was already in 112 status, I just needed to spec the car. I went down to spec the car, and by the time I got home and created a BMWUSA account, and entered in the production number, the car was accepted for Production. 7/29 I went into 150 status, assigned a VIN, and sat at 150 status until 8/24, where my car breezed through assembly and production, and was at Bremerhaven, 500 miles from the factory, by 8/28. Sat in Bremerhaven until 9/8. and is now supposed to land at Port Hueneme, tomorrow, only to be held up by a STOP SALE, for RAM (Receiver Audio Module). ETA to delivery, unknown. Build Week 34

Obtained production number on 7/13 and originally scheduled for week 35. Got bumped to week 39 and arrived at the Bremerhaven port as of today.

So my theory of builds prior to week 39 staying on target seems to be mostly true regardless of options. Anybody after week 39 seem to have no holdups as long as no carbon buckets or laser lights were specd. Anybody post week 39 have any input?

Challenging your latest theory (but kudos to you for trying!) .. received allocation on August 26 for Week 40, and released from factory this morning and at port this afternoon (Tuesday of Week 40). Options include Executive and Driving Assistance packages, laserlights and a few minor things. Options exclude carbon bucket seats and Parking Assistance.

You were right on the edge though. So maybe laser lights had been resolved by the time your car went into production but carbon buckets were still an issue. Seeing as you has no carbon seats your car was produced on target.

Yes week 29 was prior to all the delays so I suppose it makes sense you had no hold ups.

Not sure I follow… I was in quality check for 2 months… unless you're saying that's not a hold up?

Haha I'm in the same boat as you, week 29 build here as well waiting on a RAM stop sale. Glad to see you're getting your car…still waiting on mine.
