I shut my boot today and heard a bang when I went to open it again it would only open about halfway. I can see a bolt has come out but I can't work out how to get it all back into position. Help!!

That doesn’t lookin like a bolt, it looks like a rivet.

You can probably use a bolt with lock nut in place.
Have someone move the tail gate up and down until you can aide a bolt through both openings.

If I'm looking at your pictures correctly, the pin head sheaed off of the lift spring. In that case, you'll never get it back together and are better off just replacing it. The bang you heard is likely the spring unwinding. Looks like they are around £25 on eBay.

I would buy the whole hinge and spring assembly off a dismantler, you may need the other one soon and the price will not be significantly higher (or even higher at all) for the whole shooting match. They usually won't split the hinges off a perfectly good boot lid so you may have to shop around a bit. Here in the USA we have a bone yard wire called car_part.com but I don't know if you have similar.

This is just an example. I'm not sure if it's the right or the left one that you need. You can search for the right or left side with similar search terms.
