Thumbs down NOT HAPPY AT ALL

yesterday morning i get up take the car cover off to start a nice drive early in the morning when i found this had happened to my cars paint work. I have tried a million things to get it off by it seems that something has passed through the car cover and taken the paint off my car. i have no idea what has done this but im just not happy about it.
Does anyone have an idea how much it would cost to repair this?

Wow, that sucks! So sorry!

Looks like either the clear coat peeled off the trunk or a thin layer of the vinyl cover sticks to the paint.

If last is true, you shoul be able to buff it out.

If first is true BMW should pay for repaint!

Hope you get it done soon.

i guess u can contact the car cover manufacturer and explained to them what happened to ur car paint. it is going to be hard to determine if it's from flawed bmw paint process or the car cover. was there extreme heat, temperature or precipitation present when the cover was on?

Something similar happed to my E36 and that was the last time I used a cover. I think I was able to buff it out. I remember that there was some moisture and it was like it sucked all the wax off at a couple of places on the roof.

Could someone have walked by and poured something on there?

That happened to my VW once. I left the cover on the car for 2 weeks and went for holiday and found several of these on the hood after I came back. Took me 2 week to buff it off.

It almost looks like clearcoat delamination but too tough to tell from the pic. Is it on the surface of the paint (cleacoat) or does it feel completely smooth?

What is clearcoat delamination? If it feels completely smooth, what is it?

Davinet, do you have some paraffin?
Wrap a cloth around your thumb or whichever two fingers your strongest & comfortable with - soak it with paraffin and give the car a consistent firm rub
There is a good chance it will take care of it - be sure to wash that area soon afterwards though, and your hands too
