Individual AMP common fail point?

This is for an E60/E61 although the amp (and most of the speakers) are identical to the E90 version.

I grabbed a full set up for my E61 wagon from the wrecking yard; so of course no history. I have 90% of the speakers in and was swapping the amp. When its plugged in I get nothing(no sound; just a "no gong" message on I drive and I cannot connect to it with any software. The factory Logic 7 amp works and so does the Individual amp out of my E90.

On these cars the amp is set higher up so unless its a full flood, water damage is unlikely and I opened the case to look at the boards; No visible damage with corrosion or broken or broken solder joint.

Just wondering if anyone knows typical parts that can fail on these units?

Almost nobody has these.
Logic 7 amp has Led indicators for communication and functionality.
On the Logic 7 amps sometimes people need to update the firmware
to get them to work.
Maybe you have to change the VO and code it.

The above is the best thread I have seen on the subject.

Thanks!

I have changed the VO and coded it for the car; NCS expert shows "MAMP" in the listing of modules which is the Individual amp. However it cannot read it (coapi2020 IPH0009) which means no communication.

I do have the later style AMP (the only version available in North America), But it was worth a shot and finding one used might be impossible because of rarity. Cost new is insane

Can you read the other modules in your car?

Don't know how many versions there are but that shape seem
unfamiliar.

It see the separate power plug is that hooked up?

did you tried to put it in e90 ?
because individual amp most plug also has additional copper section which contain a loop to power up upper processing board in amp

Yep I can read every other single module without an issue.

The picture was a generic Individual audio amp pic and the early ones had that 3rd plug. I've updated the picture with the right one (both the E60 and my E90 have just the 20 pin connector and the MOST connection)

Yep I tried the E60 IND amp in the E90 and no sound. Same thing.

Could you try explaining the additional copper section? I could look into that closer

What do you mean by copper section I have no idea what you are talking about.
There is a third plug and I assume it's for direct 12 volt power as the 12 volt
lines on the Logic 7 harness are pretty wimpy for that much power.
I don't even have Logic 7 but all aftermarket amps that require power need beefy
power lines.

So on both of my Individual AMPs it does not have the 2 pin power/ground plug. I attached a close up below. I believe it gets power thru the 20 pin connector.

The weird thing is both cars (the E61 and E90) have no wires going to the 4 wire spot on the most connector; and my E90 individual amp works in the E61 without it. I mean I could always give it a shot and see

My power and ground( the big by wires) are for sure in pin 10/20 in the 20 pin connector
