What wheel and tire package did you receive?

What wheel did you receive, what tire was mounted, and did it match what you ordered?

I have a 45e on order, hoping that I get the wheel/tire that I expect, even with the supply chain issues.

I had a family member receive an X3 M40i recently, that was delivered with a completely different set of wheels and tires than what was ordered. Does this happen with the X5 too?

MY21 45e delivered Dec 2020. ordered and received 21" 741M wheels on Hankook summer performance RFT. subsequently changed to 20" Rohana cross-forged wheels on Bridgestone Alenza A/S RFT.

note the top speed limiter is set lower for 20" wheels (130mph), so if you decide to upgrade to 21/22" and track/race it, you will be limited. the top speed limiter is set to 155mph for 21/22" performance setups.

I had an issue where my 45e turned up with the wrong wheels, I ordered 22” 742M’s and was avoiding run flats. They turned up with 21” 741M with run flats. Told them it wasn’t what I ordered and to sort it out or I’d be cancelling my order, which in fairness to them they did.

Turned out it was a systems issue as BMW corporate move away from a legacy mainframe based order system to a new web ordering system. If it had been the dealers mistake I doubt they would have fixed it.

Tyre wise my 22” came with continental eco contact 6’s which are new for the X5 45e I’m told.

it's important to differentiate US-based 45e cannot order 22" wheels. (Davis is in Scotland.)

You are right I should have made it clear i was in the UK, Despite the X5 being made in the US they seem to be making the cuts to what you get / can order in the US first and Europe seems to be escaping pretty lightly.

Think the moral of the story though regardless of location is, if you ordered something and you have a signed order form and what arrived isn't what you ordered, they need to fix it. That is basic customer services 101 right there.

21in wheel. Came with Hankook Summer RFT. Surprisingly happy with the road noise as there is little. I thought BMW was strictly Alenza RFT but maybe with supply chain issues they made the jump.

Alenza A/S RFTs never existed for BMW-spec 21" staggered wheels. i do agree the ride was comfortable on 21" with Hankook summer RFTs. (That's the first thing my kids said compared to previous Q7 on non-RFT also with air suspension.)

Question for the OEM wheel knowleable ones:

I’m fully aware that, in the BMW website build tool, you can not select the 20” 740 M wheels for an x line X6; it has to be the 20” 738’s.

Since both the 738 and the 740M wheels have the same configuration and offsets, is it posible that the dealership can ask for the 740M wheels in an xline X6 build?

Nope, either:

1. option ZMP M Sport package
2. order a set from your dealer's parts dept, which is more expensive than optioning ZMP
3. find a 740M set in the G05 member's marketplace subforum and sell your 738.

Somewhat related:
What are folks seeing for lifespan for the OEM RF Tires that come with the 741m wheels? Per tirerack, folks seem to be seeing between 10-20k miles (obviously driving habits are the single biggest factor...I'm curious what folks here are seeing).

You cannot order it during initial build order, but your US BMW dealership will be more than happy to make separate wheel order. When I bought 45e dealership gave me accessory coupon something like 25% employee discount, apparently the discount worked toward purchasing 22'' rims + tires, it saved me around $1000.
This is so stupid that these wheels are not available for 45e ONLY in US. This is definitely not a supply chain issue since you easily can order them separate, sales person told me that BMW had a lot of them in stock at the moment of order.
