New custom staggered setup question
I have a 2020 X3 M40i. Getting rid of the 21's and ordered 20's
Fronts 245/45ZR20 Wheels 20X9 Offset 25mm Rears 275/40ZR20 Wheels 20X10.5 Offfset 40mm I used a calculator I found online. It onlt says the scrub radius will be 5 mm positive on the fronts and 3 mm positive on the rears. Everything else came up that it would work. I just wanted some thoughts on this scrub radius??? Thanks |

That's fine. Slightly positive promotes toe-in under load; you don't want toe-out (negative scrub radius) Dynamic toe should be about zero, which is just about perfect for the street.

If you've never had the alignment checked, now would be a good time to do so. I've *NEVER* seen any of my 19 new BMW's come from the factory with the alignment in spec.
Ask for the "before and after" sheet showing all 4 wheels and thrust line. Dealership wont be cheap, but they generally do okay on alignment work and have the right equipment and specs. Really nice looking X3!

definitely have the alignment checked. I didn't on mine and wore out a set of front tires in less than 13k miles. The morons at the tire shop didn't pay any attention to the fact I had spacers on. They paid to replace the left side, which for some reason was much worse than the right. Went back to BMW and paid them for a proper alignment.
