Satellite Radio delete
Was searching for the satellite radio and going mad not being able to find it. After further research it was deleted from the car due to the chip shortage and got a $350 credit on the sticker price.
Wireless charging also not active. I'm sure some of you have been following the chip shortage impacts but thought I'd let you know. I can live without satellite radio. Anyone know if wireless charging can be activated later once the chip shortages subside? |

No mention of it on the build sheet. Did you get the premium package? TBH I wasn't going to get the premium package so didn't pay attention to it. I assumed it was a standard feature.

IIRC, wireless charging was not a listed option on the BMW website, dealers had to select the option when placing the order from the factory. From feedback from owners with wireless charging, it charges extremely slowly and makes the phone quite hot, so honestly you might not be missing out on much.

Personally I'd be happy without Sirius radio. I find it really annoying in my current car to have it playing (only ads of course since I don't pay for it) on 3 channels before I can get to my usb stick or Bluetooth. If I could option delete it I would but I don't think they're deleting it anymore.

I don't care for satellite radio, but i've seen some stickers dealers have sent, that show it's actually HD Radio that's been deleted.. which would bother me somewhat more, as i occasionally like to listen actual radio

this has been talked about a lot here on forum, some cars have it installed and others not but have Sat radio wiring and can be installed after. I for one love Satellite radio and a big Classic Rock fan. Don't like using my iphone to stream SiriusXM in any vehicle. Jeez, my 2008 Mustang GT has built-in Satellite. My $55k M240i sure better have it at some point. Also, certain seems certain features like touch screen being deleted from 230i Vehicles but not M240ix

If the electronics shortages persist, you guys should swap components you don't need for ones that you do.

I haven't actually tuned in an HD station but it appears mine came with this as I've seen in on the menu.

I was watching an amplifier upgrade on a G20 3 series and the amplifier in the trunk appeared to have HD Radio markings on it. I am wondering if the only thing that needs swapping to regain XM/HD functionality is a different amp in the trunk. If so that seems like an easy upgrade if/when the parts come available.

Apparently, dealers will be able to install the missing part(s) when they become available. It is not clear, however, how many, if any, cars currently rolling off the line are affected by this. I've asked my CA to check on my m240i build, which has been "Ready for Transport" for a couple of weeks now. I am a dedicated XM radio listener (in the car) so this is important to me.
