Rubber Guide Pin Bushings Too Small??
Hey guys brand new here.
Yesterday I was changing my brakes and noticed the rubber guide pin bushings that came with the kit I bought have a smaller hole. Here is the original on the left with the new one on the right. With some synthetic grease I was able to jam in the guide pins into the new smaller bushings and make it fit, however I am wondering if the new ones are ok or should just buy the oem ones…? Just don’t want any issues with the guide pins now sticking as it’s a smaller hole and possibly they have a harder time sliding now. Let me know if anyone has encountered this, coudlent see any other forum on this topic. Thanks ! |

They look too tight.
I've used this kit in the past: https://www.schmiedmann.nl/displaypr...4-41-2-354-195 And it definitely looks more like the left variant. It was not required to lube the guide pins (BMW even states you should not lube them - although general consensus here are to lube them lightly) EDIT, whether it's going to be an issue, I'm unsure to confirm. Is brake feel any different than before? Do the brakes not rub? |

I only have the tight ones on the rear right.
Haven’t noticed anything besides some slight squeaking when I brake some times. Not sure if that’s because it’s just winter now or what. Either way I ordered some of Amazon I hope fit, if not I’ll def grab these! |
