Does your HUD go red in Sport/Sport+?
On my 40i, when I put the car is Sport/Sport+, I think the speed shown in the HUD used to turn red (as opposed to being shown in white numbers as standard).
It doesn't do that anymore, but I have a memory of this happening before. The instrument cluster changes it look for sport mode, but the HUD looks the same in all modes. Does your HUD go red in sprot mode OR, am I getting confused with my previous G30 with ID6? |

Mine only shows White and when it reaches above the detected speed limit (road signs), it shows Red/Orange. Doesn't matter whether I am in Sport, or Comfort, Adapative, etc.
My X5 is on 07/2021.50, I think, and it's a non-MSport model. Same thing on the wifey's x45e but hers is on 11/2021.35

When u go over the speed limit, the number will turn red. Anything other than that is white. I believe this applies to all modes.
*correction: the line does change based on the drive mode. Comfort-white, sport-red, eco-blue. The number change to red once you pass the speed limit. Just happen to be outside.

FWIW, the over speed flashing stops after about 10-seconds, but the color change to red is constant while you're over the speed limit. It would be annoying if it flashed constantly.

Thanks for all the replies.
My memory had failed me and I couldn't remember exactly what I was referring to, but I've been back in the car this evening and realised I was thinking of the small line that is presented just above the current speed in the HUD. That line changes to red/dark orange when in sport/sport+. The actual speed number itself stays white, unless speeding as discussed. I realised just now that when using "reduced mode" on the instrument cluster (which I have been recently), that line does not go red in sport/sport+. I noticed that as soon as I turned off reduced mode while in sport mode, the line turned red straight away. That line changing colour is a small detail, but something I obviously appreciated subconsciously, because I knew something was missing when it stopped doing it. |

I believe it changes red & some other stuff is added, IIRC or does something different than the other drive modes. I usually keep it in adaptive but I'll check next time I go out. |

Mine is still segmented, but I do have the issue with sport displays (tach) not displaying in HUD unless set to "always" show - but thats another thread!

Do you have a picture of that? Because I drove in S+ the other day and I saw a segmented line at the TOP of the HUD window.

Which iDrive version do you have? I am on 03/2021 version and I don’t see this option unless it doesn’t apply to hybrids.
