New Initialization required message

A few weeks ago I got a pop up in idrive saying new initialization required see connected drive website for more info. I couldn't find any info on connected drive site so I opened a support case with connected drive. They had no idea so I contacted my dealer service dept. They had no idea either.

Anyone seen this before and know how to resolve it?

I've seen this message come an go over the past couple months. Even after the maps updated successfully, the message sometimes appears.

And just like that today the message disappeared and the 2021-4 map installed.
