How Blue is your Black car?

I have a Carbon Black on order, which my other half and the sales assistant both said was Blue, but I was convinced it was Black with a hint of deep Blue.
Popped into the showroom this morning and I have to admit the car they had in there did indeed look Blue under the showroom lights.
For those of you who have Carbon Black, how much does the Blue stand out in real life?
No real reason for asking other than curiosity.

Id say its pretty black just at a glance but if you know what you are looking for you can defo see the blue, but its a very dark inky blue, its very nice, and thats coming from someone who wouldnt pick a blue car.

It really depends on the lighting. In gloomy clouded weather it is pretty black. As soon as the sun is out it is really dark blue and not black anymore.

I have Carbon black and the same thing happened to me! Mrs and the sale agent said it was blue! Best way to describe it is that its black in dim light but in brigth light its dark blue.

As others have said in bright sunlight it stands out as a deep metallic blue, in low light it looks black. Mine is filthy right now and looks more black than blue in any light!

Apparently, its so called Carbon Black, because of the way that carbon paper has that slightly blue hue to it.
I love it.

Which in itself is strange, because carbon paper was originally dried ink bonded to paper. It was the ink that gave it the colour.

When I hear "Carbon Black", I think of the colour of carbon fibre, which is very dark grey / black.

Hi,

Check out this video, one of the few that gives a good impression of the level of "blue" under a clear (Australian) sun:

Cheers
