You should go for a test drive! Most dealerships have them now. If you're just visiting from the US then you could maybe say something like you're moving to the UK for a job and will want to get a local car or something.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is. That's the colour we've gone for.

I came across the iX at a local driving event in the summer of '21, and my wife and I nearly gagged when we saw this version in person. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder for sure. Fast forward to the present and had the opportunity to see Sophisto Grey with a dark interior. It's like a different car. It's still a significant departure from my X7 M50i, but I like it. I'm looking forward to driving one, hopefully in the near future.

On a completely different note, I wish the US would convert to European-style license plates. They look so lovely!
