Damn CRA
so many call's never know if something is fake or real,
CRA left a message for me, I spent the best part of half an hour trying to verify if the call was legit. I've been watching too many youtube vids of indian call scammers from "microsoft" problem is out of hours you usually get someone from asia/filopines/india etc I've noticed, so always puts you on your guard. At least the message wasn't left by someone calling themselves Simon, with an obvious indian accents ! They didn't ask me for any money, but I do know I owe them, so I'll see what they want I left a message. If I even get a hint of "pls go to walmart and but 50 itunes cards I'm hanging up" |

to add insult to injury,
I mis-calculated my personal taxes, or rather, I calculated them correctly, but, instead of paying my personal taxes from "my" wages my company pay's me, I took it out of company funds. When I realised the mistake, I had moved about 2.5 grand out of my company account, LOL, as I was just shuffling money between accounts, I now need to take 2,5 grand outta my beer fund and put that back into company funds,,, I wonder if that was John DeLorean's mistake <gulps> |

I hate those scammers so much.
But just wanted to point out that the CRA will call you, in some circumstances. However, ask for the agent # and then call them back (that's what an agent once told me to do, then you can verify the legitimacy of the call. Other thing is setup your email / profile etc so they email you directly. And you avoid the paper mail delay etc altogether |

txs for that,
I type fast and I sometimes swear I type for example DOG (in my head) and it comes out "GOD" or even "SOG" I don't know why, even typing this I am "going back an autocrrecting words like nobodies buiseness." even though in my head I'm spelling it right ^^^ above is an example I just give up and let the gramma Nazi's get it off there chest. Thanks for your understanding |

Actually no, that's incorrect, if you look at the CRA website it does say they may contact you by phone, and also I DID ring a CRA helpline, and they said, yes sometimes we may ring you.
BUT we won't demand money or threaten you. |

Another thing that I’ve been told by them is that if they are calling you, there should be a note on your file why they are calling. So you can speak with any agent and they’ll look up your file to help |

Yes there was, that's why I rang back, but the agent said there was no note, just that he had rung me, he was with new business, I suspect, it is because I have not "paid" my GST that I have collected yet.
when you go over a certain amount of GST collected during (in my case more than $3000/quarter) they want to do a payment plan. My business year is october to october and I wanted to file annually. I've been told different things by different people (tax guys) one guy said because I hadnt done my tax return yet (my first year) I wouldnt need to pay my HST till I do my tax return. I have the money, but not "paid it into my HST/GST" account, that's why I know or have a feeling there is a valid reason for this. There is an email option but I cant get into the system which I think is because I havnt done my first tax return. So I get an alert via email that I "HAVE" a message but can't get into my account no matter how I try Its long and UGGH Quote:
