Gran Turismo 7?

Coming out soon (3/4) and noticed the original launch vehicles do not have G8X vehicles. Here's to hoping they add them as an update eventually. Enjoyed driving the cars I owned previously in video games like Gran Turismo.

Yeah looking at lists, it seems like the G8X cars aren't on it. I'm also hoping they add them in later updates.

It seems there's quite a few missing cars...

None of the G series of BMWs are present
No C8 Corvette
No Audi RS5/RS7
No Lexus LFA
Barely any Mercedes cars
No Cadillacs
No Alfa Giulia QF
etc etc

I love the Gran Turismo series and I even own the Logitech steering wheel/pedals that accompany the game. My dilemma is….I don't have a PS5 yet (and may not for some time). I'm wondering if I should wait, or just pull the trigger now and play on my PS4. I guess what I'm wondering is….will the game be THAT much better on the PS5?

You can buy the 25th anniversary edition for $90. It comes with a ps5 disc and a digital download of the ps4 version plus some in game goodies.

Or you can buy the game on PlayStation store and then pay $10 to upgrade to the PS5 version when you get it.

The game is dope. Definitely recommend

Been playing and I think I enjoy Sport more so far. That 8 min unskippable intro video, holy crap. And all the dialogue is just painful. Maybe the G8x will be added by the time I can finally drive on Laguna

I have to say this game is incredible so far. The driving dynamics are so much better than previous GT games. And they really optimized the DDpro wheel for GT7. The cars behave so much more predictably, and the feedback through the wheel is incredible in the level of detail.

I drove a 66 Cobra through trial mountain and didn't spin out because I knew exactly what my front tires were doing. And the feedback differs by car. Whereas the Cobra had a more direct steering feel, the old Honda I drove had an obvious dead spot.

Of course my first car purchase is an M3

I'm getting almost no ffb when it comes to over or understeer on my CSL elite wheel. I have to rely completely on visual cues makes it much harder than it should to catch a slide. Combined with the ridiculously loose rear on all the FR cars and it makes for a somewhat frustrating experience. Lots of folks on GT Planet complaining about the lack of rear end grip.

They're going to release new models as time goes on. Most of the models are carry-overs from GT Sport anyway.

Just completed the M3 menu book thing.

So sad that they basically have every generation but not the new one. Same goes with corvette, car that historic and not to have new one when both have been out over a year now??? Guess it's a money grab micro transaction thing.

If they do add it later wonder if they will do the RWD or xdrive version (or both).

Also really wish they had a road car version of the Z4 M. X3M, X5M, they don't even have road version M6 or M8.

It is a great game, ps5 on 77" oled is breathtaking, cars seriously look like real photos and video, super smooth. Menus and everything so much better than GT sport, but you can't sell anything (parts you don't want, your own cars…).

I've been a fan since day 1 (the first GT release in 1997) and an active forum member at GTPlanet for many years.

Three recurrent/common complaints that eventually took the pleasure away for many fans :

1) Car list not up to date : it takes so many years to develop a game that eventually the car list is dated (looks like they don't update that much during development)

2) Engine sound : vacuum cleaners

3) Sensation of speed : lacking

I want to give a chance and love GT7, but I'm pessimistic...

I played the original as a teen and got hooked. Stopped playing after GT5, but got back into it now as my kid wanted to try it.

It does have more of a throwback feel with stuff like the used car lot being back (not as good though). I am sure it will improve with updates (nice thing about games today) and my guess is they will just keep releasing new tracks, cars and content for years and will focus on developing those now.

I have had a ton of fun playing it this weekend and seeing the frustration from my 13 year old that he can't just dive bomb turns and think he will come out okay (like in horizon). Each of those games is fun in their own way, horizon you play with a game pad, Turismo with a wheel…

That's surprising to hear. I wonder if it's truly optimized for the DDPro and other wheels are an afterthought? You'd think with the CSL elite it would be at least on the same level as the cheaper DDPro..

For me the ffb has been incredible and I finally feel like I have full control over the car. I also haven't found the FR cars to have traction problems at all outside of what you'd expect from a FR car. Like I mentioned above, I drove that 66 Cobra around Trial Mountain without spinning out once, and am now driving around in the e30 with absolutely no problems.

I've even gotten all gold in the national B and A license tests (something I've never been able to accomplish in the past with just the controller or belt driven wheels like the logitech). International license tests up next...

Surprised GT 7 doesn't have the G80 M3. Same thing with Horizon 5 (even though it's not a sim racer, they are usually good about having the latest popular cars). I was able to get one via mod for Assetto Corsa. Comp XDrive too!

Looks like your Fanatec GT wheel also rests slightly off center too? Kinda drives me nuts but I'm learning to block it out while driving.

How's your experience with it been otherwise?

I agree with these two. I think The car sound in general is probably the best out of all the GT series although some say GT Sport is still better or has no improvement since then. Having been a fan of the GT series since day one I must say the car sound in Forza, esp Forza 7 is still closer to real-life even though some are a bit exaggerated. I still think it could show a little more characteristic between different cars. They do sound better once you install upgraded parts.

As far as the sense of speed, maybe added motion blur might help. I will say that this is the first racing game/simulator where I have a more accurate sense of distance and depth (not so much speed) when playing in the cockpit view.

Amazing game regardless!

Side note, Does anyone else love watching the replay after your race? It looks so damn good!

CSL elite is belt driven and sits below the dd pro. I'd love to upgrade to the dd eventually.

Curious which games you're comparing the ffb with?

No, but that's because I'm using a ps4 base

Honestly I'm just focused on slogging through the game to unlock Nurburgring (menu book 21) and Spa (30).

This is going to sound weird but I don't really like new video games. The gameplay just sucks compared to how games were like 20 years ago.

The last GT I played was GT3 on PS2. Am I going to like this?

Totally confused csl elite for Podium f1.. don'task why...

The only other game I've played with the ddpro is Assetto Corsa and I felt the ffb in GT7 is far superior.

GT7 feels pretty old school...kind of a tribute to what made the original games so good. So from that angle I'd say yes you'll like it.
