Rear manual shades?
Has anyone seen this on a recent build? (see pic) Our build date is 3/4/22.
For some reason, I don't see options like everyone else. They are enumerated in English instead of codes. Wondering if this is a real issue or issue with code->English translation. |

Found this thread (https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...ghlight=shades) that points to: https://www.bmwusanews.com/newsrelea...=&searchresult
The article seems to suggest Electric shades are only available for M50i or with Executive package, although it is quite old. Any recent 40i owners with Premium package with electric shades? This might be a dealbreaker for us after all the wait! |

My X7 iDrive40 was ordered for PCD at the Spartanburg facility. The pre-delivery ordering specifications listed the rear manual side window shades. The dealer assured me that the listing was incorrect as manual shades were not available.
The X7 was delivered with the electric side window shades. |

This has been a bug on the order system descriptiin for quite a while. I'm nearly certain you will have power rear shades.

From what we have gathered, the original pricing guide showed 417 correctly as rear electric shades, and the original ordering guide showed the same 417 code as manual. They finally corrected this in the 2022 ordering guide, but there are still remnants of that erroneous label for the code on the website and such. As huskerdoc2020 eludes, here are a ton of threads on this: https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1636875 https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1799893 https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1826731 https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1727832 https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1848347 ... ... ...

The parts database also reveals that the rear shades are electric...its in the description. If they were manual it would not say electric.
Or if manual shades were offered for the X7...there would be a diagram and part nbr listed for the manual shades...and there isn't. Here's a direct link to the part database diagram below: https://bimmercat.com/bmw/en/search/...iX/USA/51_A544
