Hello....

So my 2007 E91 was left standing for a while during the covid thingy!
Its now back on the road after some TLC, but none of my cup holders open smoothly, and the centre console catch is also sticking.
Neither of these were a problem before..

Tried the WD40 approach but hasn't helped.
Any suggestions??

the cupholders are an easy swap, if you go that route.

Where did you spray the wd40? The cupholders come out easy enough (gently pop out the dash trim, and unscrew). I'd pull them, look where it's catching, and adjust / lubricate. I'd use a silicon lubricant, personally. Also, you might find that just by using them, they'll loosed up on their own.

Going to try removing the fascia and then holders themselves this week….
Saw a few posts about removing a cog, but I’m not going that route at the moment..

Removed fascia and cup holders…
Gave them a clean but still not opening, so removed delay cog on both cup holders and both now open successfully.
