What do you think of this price on a 2022 M4?
Hi,
I've been shopping around for a 2021 or 2022 M4. I came across a new 2022 M4 with a manual. The dealer is willing to do $3000 over msrp. I thought I'd never pay over msrp, but these cars are hard to find. The only options include Executive Package and Parking Assistance Package. What do you guys think of this price? I will need to have it shipped from Cali to TX. Thanks |

WW3 could be weeks away get the car. If you can afford it then do it. Otherwise build what you want but know you will be waiting awhile. |

If you really need to vehicle and this matches your build configuration, then why not.
I never imagined getting a BMW for MSRP would be a deal. The way dealers are receiving allocations in the recent past and current builds being delayed, your build might be scheduled for a MY23. There might be a significant MSRP by then. |

I wouldn't. The ordering process isn't bad. Given this, and it appears that the auto market has plateaued (at least from what I have seen, I could be wrong) I would not settle for an in-stock and pay over MSRP. It's unnecessary. Order one and have it shipped to your closest location that will, at least, give you MSRP..

The G82 I ordered has been in QC for 120 days, and there has been some movement for others in the same/similar scenario, but there is no way my car would be here for another 2 months, maybe more. I found one I liked, and made a deal, over sticker, and I’m picking it up next week. I think the people that are saying the order process is easy, or that G82s are easier to come by maybe haven’t seen the mess that’s going on over in the pricing t/ordering forum.

I'd buy it. In fact, if you don't buy it can you PM me the info?
Just for context, I got an allocation for an M3 just before Thanksgiving. It's been sitting at port since end of January. Not sure I will get it before May. Buy it. Last edited by astroricardo; 03-09-2022 at 07:58 PM.. |

Think it sucks. Ordered mine, got exactly what I wanted for a few hundred under (loyalty) MSRP.
The the closets I ever paid to MSRP. Gave then a small deposit then forgot about the car. When it shows up it shows up, its totally out of your hands so no point in agonizing over it. Was ordered & delivered in 2021 & is a 2022 so I am good as far as I am concerned.

I've been waiting 7 months since getting an allocation... It's been sitting at the port for 2 months now. Probably going to take another 2 months into I get it.
That means it is taking at least 9 months to get a car these days. I'm thinking of you order now or will probably be closer to 12 months |

Stick with MSRP
Had two local dealers with allocations to chose from here. One wanted MSRP+$7.5k and the other wanted MSRP+loan (can make large down payment and pay off in 3 months, so <<$7.5k difference). Took latter deal.
Coincidentally, my dealer literally today started an advertising campaign touting that it does not charge more than MSRP. BMW of Murrieta (www.bmwofmurrieta.com; Dave Townsend). Other than a so-far satisfied customer I have no relationship with them. A lot of people here in So. Cal. are pissed off with everything and increasingly have 'I will wait rather than get screwed' attitudes. Personally, I think a 'we are in this together and we respect you' sales approach is good business.

Is it on the lot?
OK, said what I did above because it was not clear if the car was here now.
Is so, catch the next $59 flight on Southwest and drive your car back to TX (love your 85mph West Texas-bahn). If the car is not here past QC, stop sales, recalls, VPC and not already literally on the dealer's lot, do not risk more than a refundable deposit while you shop for a better deal. Its on $$$ and we all may glow in the dark this time next week anyway.
