When do I order a 23 LCI ?
Coming out of an X4M and missed the scale and comfort of x5 but I want the "newest one available " as to not end up with an "old" model mid lease

If I'm not mistaken the announcement will be April 2023.
Orders taken shortly after and delivery in the fall as a 2024 LCI model.

You are correct, production will start in April of 23 and it will be a MY24 in the US. I'm thinking that it will first be available in Europe and not in the US until Summer but that is just a guess based on previous introductions. Then again the X7 LCI is scheduled to start production 8/22 and I would assume be available in the US immediately.

My guess is you won't be able to until they officially announce the LCi changes? BMW hasn't officially announced anything, so hard to order something that doesn't technically exist. Everything out on it right now is just speculation and rumors so far.

Yes that's obvious. I was referring to the production date being April 2023 so how much before this date do BMW usually announce and accept orders?

Depends on the market and when they will be introducing it. I would guess maybe a month or so before the production. Look at the 3 series LCI, that is starting production in July and nothing has been announced yet.

OP you going to wait a year to place your order and longer than that for delivery? Just curious. I would order the car now. IMO the LCI for the X3 is an inferior look and I expect the same will happen to the X5 and X6.

I just reached out to my SA to see if I can get at the top of a list for 23 LCI allocations. This way if pricing doesn't go up as much as I think it will, then we may trade in the 22 we are getting. I think that the 23 LCI is going to have a much higher options ceiling.

Thanks all. Crazy me, I acquired my X4M a month after release, yet the "LCI" was done less then 2 yrs later. I assumed the 19' x5 would go "LCI" soon, to be released later this year as 23. From what I'm hearing so not the case…. And no I'm not going to wait. Unfortunately I'm unenthusiastic about the current models. After a loyal 21 year stretch, my visions of a Q8 in my future may turn out to be true…..

Yep, that's why I also have an order in for a 22 45e If the 50e is marginally more expensive with the expected updates, and still eligible for the tax rebate, then I'll likely go through with the order. Trade in the 45e.

Sounds like a plan. I talked to the wife as well about the possible upgrades that may come with the LCI, and if it follows some of the design cues from the new X7, especially on the interior, it will be a hard pass.

I have not seen anything saying that and it really wouldn't make sense for them to do it.

i said the same thing, but he went on and on about it not being new for BMW to have short or long runs within the same model year. he posted a spreadsheet showing as much, but being new to bimmers, i let it go. though he did say he'll eat his words if he turns out to be wrong
