iX M60 "Build Your Own" is live on BMWUSA

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I noticed that you can now build your M60 on the bmwusa website.

I noticed that under the "Driver Asistant Package" they list Parking Assistant Pro. On the xDrive 50, they do not mention this. Is it safe to assume this feature doesn't come on the xDrive 50?

The Bowers & Wilkins Sound System is not listed. Is it standard on the m60?

Yes I think so. I am so conflicted on whether to splurge for this or not. My xDrive 50 is optioned out to 100k

The leather option is 1k more expensive, I wonder if they cover more surfaces then on the ix50 or higher grade leather. Or maybe you get the privilege of paying a BMW 1k extra for the same seats.

Driver Assistant Pro is available on all variants of the iX as an option. Just depends on how BMW decides to bundle it in different countries. In some it’s only available as part of a pack and others it’s available as a standalone option.

Is it just me or is the iX extremely expensive for what it is? In Europe, a loaded M50 or M60 is in X5M Competition territory.

It kind of is an X5M? Similar size, similar 0-60, similar features, with the upgraded dash. In the US, the M60 I built came up to 108, the X5M for comparison was 107.8. Add in the competition package and it jumped to 117.

Add in the 2years free charging, the $7.5k tax break, and I'm thinking its worth it? We drove the iX 50 and it was sublime, so this can only be better.

That said, my wife ordered the i4 M50 because she wants the EQS SUV but still wants an EV "now" :\

To the point about similar size to the X5, the trunk isn't which is an issue for some making it less enticing. Different priorities.

Interestingly, it doesn't show a range based on tire size selection like on the xDrive 50...where it says "Up to 324 miles" for 20", 305 miles for 21" and 315 miles for 22".

For the M60, I would expect the same range penalty on the 21" since the wheels are the same as iDrive 50, right?

Yup, that’s exactly what’s keeping me away from an iX. With all my kids sports activities (and I also coach), cargo space to carry equipment and gear is crucial. Which has prompted me to look at the Rivian truck instead. EV would be great as I’m at the pumps weekly in my minivan (17mpg!).

The iX60 is getting into EQS SUV pricing, and that's got luxury at a higher level IMO.

I think EQS SUV would be quite a bit more expensive than M60.

BMW USA website under build summary for the iX M60 shows a $175 credit for passenger lumbar delete. This has to be a joke that BMW's 'premium' EV offering is missing standard features at market launch.

Yeah I agree- I'm going from an m550 so ideally I would've wanted the m60, but definitely not at the expense of 35 miles of range.

That feature is also missing in the iX50, and across much of BMW's model range right now. Chip issue. The interesting thing to me is that BMW "values" it at $175, since it also deletes seat width adjustment and massage function.

That is incredible for a $100k car.

My salesperson told me that it does not affect the passenger seat massage function. Are you certain that the lumbar delete does?

It 100% does since the massage function uses the lumbar support bladder for the massage programs. No lumber support=no bladder=no massage.

Oh gosh, that's horrible lol. 😢 I always drive with my boyfriend in the passenger seat and he's the one with the back problems..

^^^This. Confirmed in multiple demo models. It's also missing on all their X1, X2, X3, X4, 2, 3, and 4 series models as well as width adjustment, and has been at least a year The memory function is retained however, at least in the US, but no other front passenger seat adjustments or functions other than up, down forward and back (and you do still get front passenger ventilated and heated seats if so optioned). Corporate decision to make more cars, less well equipped (obviously if they can make a driver's seat with massage, they could make a passenger seat with that function). Might show up in future years, but I wouldn't count on it soon, and if we buy them as-is they'll make them as-is.

I wonder though how much of that range loss is down to options. The 50 is probably tested without air suspension and all of the extras that the M60 comes with. If you option up the 50 it's possible you lose some range too.
