Black gloss front intakes

I don’t have the carbon pack and therefore I think adding just the carbon front air intakes to the bumper would look weird. Is there anyone out there who has seen gloss black versions??

I was actually just thinking about this today and wondered if it would ever be an option.

I didn't get the carbon pack but think the front looks way better with the inlets. I'd definitely get a set of gloss black if they ever get made.

I've been thinking about the same thing. Anyone body-color paint them?

I see the post above days BSM, but I'm Brooklyn Grey so think it might be a little too much contrast. Idk..

For those without CF, couldn't a person just remove the OEM honeycomb grills and you'd get the look you are wanting?

Lightbulb

The carbon mania cracks me up. Order a 911 and all parts are not carbon. A mix of paint, gloss black and carbon. I like painted mirror caps over the carbon. Front OEM splitters painted over carbon or gloss black. Side skirts look classier to me in body color paint compared to black. Painted OEM grill, no. Painted diffuser? Hell no. 911 black bumper caps, F/R can be body painted OEM factory as well as intake vents etc. BMW needs to open up the option book on paint. My .02. The Mustang was the same gig......2011 and 2012 black plastic body molding, 2013, 2014 last year S197 parts all painted body color. I would suspect this to happen on the G8x mix before long.

BMW carbon not optioned.....you get gloss black where on Porsche base you get black plastic. It's a weird marketing scheme for corporate gross profit dollar.

Watch a future LCI with body painted parts. It is evolutionary in automotive marketing and sales.

You get the look because of the ducts behind the mesh, but there's gaps around the edges and the areas that the vents clip into you can clearly see the tabs. Also it's just unpainted plastic, so doesn't look right. I'd much rather have a gloss black painted one that matches all the other gloss black pieces on the car.

Still interested if anyone has found the elusive gloss black front air inlets in the aftermarket world?

Nope. I just bought carbon and had them painted locally. Looks perfect.

Also had front splitter, diffuser and spoiler painted the same. Gloss black GT grill next, then I post some pics!

FYI R44's gloss black ducts are painted carbon... I'm assuming they're not dry carbon since they are priced lower than their normal dry carbon CF ducts. So far, nobody seems to make any sort of FRP gloss black ducts.

I went ahead with Kies carbon ducts even though I don't have the carbon pack. IDGAF about it being carbon while my CSL grill and everything else is gloss black. The price was less than $600 shipped which is better than what Dongsai was charging direct. I have the CFRP roof so it won't be totally out of place.... still looks better than the mesh now that I have the CSL grill.

I really wouldn't wait 5-6 weeks honestly. Just buy carbon set and have them painted and installed by a local body shop.

How much would it cost to 3D print these? The part would probably costs no more than $30 to mass manufacture. Shelling out $600 is just insane.

Just go on eBay and find a reputable seller offering the carbon vents at a reasonable price (listed as OEM fitment,) then get them painted and installed locally. I did that and it’s perfect.
$300 for the carbon vents
$150 to paint
$200 install

Revisiting this idea - I assume to install these inlets, the entire front bumper has to come off? It's probably not terribly difficult, but a bit daunting! I do think the inlets make the car look more aggressive. I would also want to go with black as I do not have any exterior carbon fiber pieces.
