Discoloration - BMW M5 comp. carbon Engine cover

Anyone experienced something similar? I have an M5 comp. (2019), Silverstone II, with carbon M engine-cover. The engine-cover is becoming increasingly more and more discolored, and I thinks that this must be a complaint case. This is not BMW M worthy as I see it.

I have been warned by both IND and my locally trusted paint guys that the F90 engine gets VERY hot in comparison to other M motors. I'm not a mechanic, so I wont even begin to try and jumble words together and explain why,

But both very reputable shops, who have both painted an engine cap for me have already said to expect it long term

it's the same as f10 motor. any cover sitting right above an engine is exposed to enormous amounts of heat.

The engine is indeed VERY hot. Saw some water marks on the carbon engine cover and used a wet cloth to try to clean it and I got scalded from the carbon engine cover. Scary hot

That hot V does it. I think its unavoidable. Happened to my buddies F10 as well.

Looks like they didn't use Hi-temp epoxy. Bean counters. Glad i didn't waste $1000 on this. Would definitely take to dealer and demand a new one, then sell it to someone and put back on your normal plastic one.

How many miles are you at? Curious how much exposure the engine cover has had...

Theres a plastic one available? Nice I'll have to grab one and preserve the carbon one.

Yes the oem piece is plastic. Shame they didn't give you both assuming your cf one was put on at the port or dealer before picking up.
