Venturing further afield, there's also Putnam Park (southwest of Indianapolis), Grattan (northeast of Grand Rapids) and Gingerman (east of South Haven MI). I've done more than several BMW CCA HPDEs at each of those tracks. Gingerman and Putnam Park in particular are safe, as far as run-off areas (unlike Blackhawk Farms), and good for skill-building without killing brakes and tires in a single weekend.

Blackhawk Farms is fun and technical, and they provide instructors for beginners.
Autobahn events are fun, but the North track is okay. Road America is very fast, you can likely reach 140 mph at a couple spots. Gingerman is very fun, but much better suited for lightweight track cars. Be prepared to tear apart the outer edge of your tires. Agree with adjusting camber. |
