Has anyone done the break in service before 1200 miles ?
If so , what is the earliest anyone has done it ? I always drive my m cars a ton at the begging and race to the 1200 mile mark . I should have between 900-1000 when I hit my service appointment this Thursday . Is there some magical number @ 1200 or is it negotiable by a couple hundred miles ?

Mine was delayed because they could not get the oil for it. I ended up at 2300 miles. The ()*&)*&'d tried to say now to my extended warranty because this was done TOO Late. WTF? I did not have any warranty claims so never heard an issue until now. I was able to get them to rescind their dumb decision and got the warranty.
I recommend you park the (*)*& Car at the dealer at 1199 miles and take a loaner until they do the service. Video tape your milage on that day with a (&)*& newspaper in the video to mark the date. Then beat the living (&*) out of the loaner. Mike FU BMW>

In my AMG E63S for example there was even a window sticker about break in just in case a customer doesn't read the manual, and its stated the standard break in stuff but for 1000mi or 1500km. Well 1500km is actually 930 miles, well short of a 1000mi, E63S is just as hard to drive under 4k rpms like a grandma as it is an M5. So the "forum" break in was always 900miles not full 1000. No oil change surprisingly until first 10k, jusr rear diff fluid change at 2k miles and then 20k miles. Realistically probably the break in could be done as early as 800 miles, but manufacturers always have to do a buffer zone, they have no control in who buys their cars and how savvy the customer is. |
