Dealer Allocation for X5 M50i near Houston

Does anyone here happen to know if a dealer anywhere near Houston (honestly DFW would be fine also) has allocation for a 2022 X5 M50i? The Autonation dealer in Spring has an order for my custom build, but no allocation as of now so who knows how long the wait will be. I am also wondering if maybe I am okay just waiting a bit for allocation since I guess I'm fairly close to just being able to get a MY23 X5, does anyone have a thought on that?

Read up on the LCI. Its a year away, 4/23. M50 will become M60 with a true ///M engine in it. Probably close to or above 600hp given the current output of the motor and mild hybrid system. If you can wait, might be worth it.

Yeah I saw that, unfortunately the LCI most likely won't get into my hands till at best June 2023. The X5 is for the wife and she currently has a 2015 Range Rover Supercharged that has warranty expiring in May of this year. The Range Rover is a very very nice vehicle even with the outdate tech (only has 57k miles), but reliability is shall we say below average. So for us getting out of the Rover while it is still in warranty (or slightly after would be okay) is more important than waiting for the LCI. I have looked at extending the warranty for another year, but the cost is very high and the coverage is fairly limited.

I feel you. My wife, likes her Land Rovers. We had an LR4 that she loved and we kept out of warranty, but it was rock solid and had no issues luckily.

My dealer just sent me a message that they were able to secure an allocation and I have an build scheduled for early next month.
What do I need to get from the dealer in order to track my build?

You need to get the Production Number and then can add that to MyGarage on bmwusa.com.

Just an update, my X5 M50i was built this week and is awaiting carrier. Dealer says it’s scheduled to be at the dealership late next week. It’s honestly been shockingly faster than I first expected 6 weeks ago.

On the way to the dealership right now to pick up the X5 M50i. Overall it was only 45 days from putting down deposit to actually taking delivery of the X5. Honestly shocked at the speed. Once I get it I will share some pictures and let everyone know what may have been deleted.

I'm really looking forward to hearing how your X5 was delivered and the explanation for what's happening with any missing features. Mine's in production - status changed today:

Post some photos!

So kinda a long story, but I went to get mine and because it was a Saturday I could not take it home because they needed to get the check from my credit union and they could not match the interest rate I got from them. So I will get the check and take delivery hopefully on Monday.

But we did go through everything else and best I can tell the only delete was the manual lower tailgate. The wireless airplay was working, no soft close doors but that was expected. I checked basically every box on the X5 build list on this. Both seats had the massage function, HUD was working, but let me know if you have questions about anything specifically else.

Congratulations on it arriving. When you have a chance can you test the kick to open feature and see if it works for the upper half?

Thanks, good luck, stay safe and enjoy.

Took delivery today. Kick to open works for the top. Bottom is manual. M50i is legit, very happy I went with it over the 40i

Yes I do have it. I assume it’s working, but I guess there is no way to know for sure
