No luck with Samsung S22 Ultra as Digital Key

So I finally got my new Samsung S22 Ultra to replace my Note 10+, excited to try it with my M3 and hope this shinny new phone would work... but when I tried to pair it with the car as Digital Key it said not compatible

How disappointing... I guess I still need to use the key card as alternative
Not sure if anyone here has any luck?

The digital key phone feature from BMW has been developed together with Apple…so currently only working with iPhones…

But they said this should become a digital key standard, so most likely will be available on other phones at some point in the future.

Hmmm it is strange that it supposedly works for S21 but not the new S22?

Must be way above my pay grade as it makes zero sense how this works in one country over another as it does not use the cell network at all. Also the specs in the phones appear to be the same.

The only difference I can see is that some countries have different chip sets in the same phone model, which is strange in itself, but this may be the difference. I am out of luck though as the S22 Ultra does not work.

I must be in the car with the 2 keys? right now when I press setup key I get the following error "Your device is not compatible with BMW digital Key" I'm in Canada with S22 ultra. all apps are up to date.

It appears your error is due to the cell phone because you would not get to the screen where it asks if you are in the car with both keys.

Maybe thats due to the Canadian spec...

Confirmed with my current M340i in France. But I still keep my iPhone 13 Pro Max for that.
