*PLZ HELP! I think my car's gonna EXPLODE!

Hey guys,

Ok so I am unbelievably late right now for a meeting and this shyt is only making it worse.

I made a video earlier about what was going on but when I was ready to post it, the issue seemed to *fix* itself.

So here's the issue in a nutshell:
- Went away for a week and when I came back to start the car, it was fine.
- A few days later I started it on a very cold morning and the car was idling so rough. It sounded as if it was misfiring. Almost like those V8's that run aggresive cams.
- I turned it off and started it back up. Same thing again so I let the car sit for 10 mins. Started it back up and was gone, but I now had a CEL
- I never got the CEL read because the issued went away after driving for a day.
- Today I went to go start the car, and the same thing happend again. So I made this video.
- Now I'm waiting for your help because It either explodes, or I cry (again).

Some additional info:
I'm running PROcede V3. Now I doubt this has anything to do with it, but I just thought I'd mention it since people always ask if you're running a tune.
Got some motul v300 5W40 engine oil that's approaching 4,000KMS. I get the feeling that it's not rated to run properly into these cold temps, but I could be wrong. I just feel that this is the most likely cause since the car after 10 minutes of it happening the first time. Enough time to warm up the car.

PLEASE CHIME IN WITH ANY AND ALL HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE!
VIDEO - http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=4uyzba&s=4

Thanks in advance!

- Rohit

Nothing is going to blow up. It just looks like a common fuel pump failure. Dealer will take care of it. It should be easy to diagnose since it induced an engine code. Just remove the PROcede first to save yourself some potential dealership hassle.

WOW, that definitely did not sound good. I woulg highly suggest running the bypass plugs from Vishnu or better yet take it out completely. While you are doing that unplug the battery for thirty minutes. Then start the car stock and see what happens. Run an obdII of your own or go to autozone and have it done (free)n and write the codes down and contact Shiv for help. Even if it is not the Proceed, Shiv should be able to help you with the codes. Just off hand, check your oil level, remember it takes a full 7 quarts. If you only have the half engine light and no SES light then there may not be any codes to read, in which case I could not stress taking the tune out to see if it happens at stock. You also may just have a loose connection. Good luck.

Just remove the PROcede and take it into the dealer.

He has 27 miles till empty. Yes it's low. But he's not fucking up his car by turning it on or blipping the throttle.

In the video, it shows 43 miles to empty. so he roughly has 2-3 gallons of fuel in the tank.

To OP, its your HPFP, mine did the same thing a week ago. Dealer took care of everything. Good Luck !!!

If you look at his video its showing the gas icon...I understand its not completely empty, but where the OPs location is in Toronto, its has to be below 32 F for sure...I was under the impression it was not good for our cars and the fuel pumps to run that dry! I maybe wrong SHiv, whats your take on it...Well you live in Cali where there is no winter!!!

With a couple gallons left in the tank, I don't think the fuel pump is running dry. I just think it failed like the thousands of others. Extreme temps and extended periods of nonuse can certainly accelerate the rate of failure.

And yep, it's really cold up here in Nornthern CA. High-50s. I had to put on an undershirt!

how do u base your facts on this statment....so i guess everyone in colder climates and those that store their cars have a higher chance of the fuel pump failure problem??...

This is in fact, how things work.

Harsher climate=harsher on mechanics=less time to deteriorate...

Cars that are stored, should always be run occasionally, just better for the engine/internals...

never too great to let a car sit forever and not run
