C8 Corvette review (with pro pics)
Hi guys
While you might normally know me from my G80 ownership, I recently had the chance to test out a C8 Corvette. I'm not much of a Vette guy. I am now. https://machineswithsouls.com/2022/0...rvette-review/

Great review and awesome pics (especially the 1st one)! Truly an amazing bit of kit for the price If I had one, I’d stay as far away as possible from tight parking lots. The C8 is almost as wide as it is long.

What an extraordinary review makes you proud that a US company can make such an unrivaled beast for the money. I bought my 2019 Z06 because I had to have a stick but some part of me wishes I had waited

I'm as shocked as you are that I liked it so much. But look, the C8 is a car you have to DRIVE. I really appreciated that. It highlights what modern BMWs are sometimes missing.

Sick!!! As a corvette owner I can say the c8 is the final form. That’s why my forever car will be the c8z. Won’t want any other ICE toy afterwards moving foward when we go all electric!

I hope the C8 isn't the final form because it still looks kinda weird. But everything else is cool, except the wait lists for the Z06.

looks weird to me too. but its to be expected, no other company is giving you a mid engine v8 + DCT + mag ride for the price. i do want to drive one at some point to see how close they got to the 458.

Great review. Personally, I have zero interest in ever owning a C8 or any american car for that matter, however, I can honestly say it seems to be the best bang for your buck, hands - down.

Final form meaning as a whole. Not the stingray being the end all be all of the c8. The c8z in terms of looks they nailed it. Really sets it apart from the stingray.

The z06 still looks kinda weird too but better than the regular C8. I'd put up with the weirdness for the engine if I could get one, but I can't, so...

Why can't you? The car didn't even come out yet and people are suggesting they'll never have a chance to own one like it's a 1 year limited production model lol. Even if you can't get on a wait list, pick one up used. More people are slowly showing interest in the hybrid corvette so don't be surprised how many will be quick to jump off the z06 wait list, or perhaps trade their 1st or 2nd year z06 ownership for a hybrid corvette or the up and coming ZR1/zora model. Crazy to think that there's more C8 variants coming and the z06 being the first super high performance variant and that's already crazy. I'm actually debating on picking up a stingray (sell my C7Z), and still get my C8Z later this year (or during winter etc). But i don't know how i feel about having 2 of the same type of car. Gotta love GM. |

With all the electronics in this car does anyone think the depreciation curve will be rather steep?

When I was beside one doing 75 mph and he gunned it, I did too. He was initially in front but once my turbos kicked in, I walked and left him. I have a Stage 1 DME tune with lighter wheels. Same thing happened with a Hellcat but I only had a few car lengths on him. I was pulling away though.
On paper is one thing, the real world is another. |
