BMW Ultimate Care

Hey Everyone

Looking to pickup BMW Ultimate Care for my '22 X3 M40i - what type of deals has everyone been able to get on this? Any? Has it really been needed?

From my reading on here it only really pays off if you need brakes within that 3yr/36k range. I paid 1,300 for front brakes and rotors on my 2017 G30. It only had 17k miles on it at the time. It was CPO so don't know how it was driven before me.

I talked to my Indy shop tech yesterday and asked him if he thought the m40i would need brakes within that first 3 years and he said "most likely". If I can get he dealership to add plus for 400-500 I may do it??? Most responses here is that we would be paying 700 bucks for windshield wiper fluid because they won't budge a finger unless the car computer says something is needed.

Maybe not the best pricing, but certainly better than most.

It’s a good option. You can buy from any BMW dealer as long as you’re still under warranty/contract.

Got following quotes from Christine,

Seems fairly steep for even if the car is driven to the ground, maybe worth it if each year for next 3 years brake gets replaced and all CBS services done each year. Otherwise, will probably skip adding prepaid 3 years maintenance. I do have extended warranty that covers the car up to 100,000 miles, with no limit on the number of years.

$3,949/3=$1,316.33/year for next 3 years on pre-paid maintenances

These were my questions:

Hi Christine,

The X3 is 2019 G01 M40i.

Miles 12,392
In-Service Date 2-26-2019

You come (highly) recommended by the online forum folks as a person to contact for adding BMW Ultimate Care+ options to try to beat the MSRP prices.

Could you help me with some options on pricings for adding Ultimate Care+, Ultimate Care Scheduled, extending roadside assistance by +3 years?

Since I'm coming up on my end of 4 years warranty, the car only qualifies for Ultimate Care+ 2, 3, and 4? And Ultimate Care Scheduled would essentially only be good for +1 year?

The car was supposed to be a daily driver for the wife but has been taking a backseat to her Honda Odyssey that seems to run like the energizer bunny.

The X3 brake is still in good condition from last dealer inspections.

But looking down the road where X3 gets driven "harder" looking at my options to add a prepaid maintenance program to it.

Or at least extend the roadside assistance by another +3 years?

m40i front brakes are much more expensive I believe... i believe i've read closer to the 2k price?

Either way, I agree, if the brakes need done it makes it "worth it" to me.
Without brakes, its really not a big value to me.
I thought I read somewhere that BMW isnt going to cover brakes moving forward?

You aren’t going to need brakes within 36k miles. I have a 2018 X3 M40i with 45k on the clock and original pads and rotors. Rears are close, but no sense in paying all that money. You can get OEM pads or aftermarket pads for a few hundred or less. It is not a hard job to complete.

The only thing I have had go bad on mine is just last week the washer fluid pump started leaking. Although it was a pain in the ass to get to as you have to take off the tire, the fender liner, etc. it cost me $30 to replace and some time in the garage.

This is a pretty reliable platform with not a whole lot of issues. I think buying an extended package is just tossing money down the drain.

Wouldn't buying it with the car be the cheapest option since they claim you get a 30% discount. Or does the ultimate care offered to be bundled with your order not include the brakes service?
