Driver's door leather crack fix

I had some cracks on my driver's door. Tried to talk to the service center at the dealership but they said they could only replace the door panel (which cost more than 2K $)...

Would there be a better approach to fix this? Like a local body shop?

Probably it's not leather but some kind of material similar to vinyl (plastic foam).

If it is a crack due to defective build then they should cover it. If it has been caught by something during cleaning etc., then they wont cover. I cant believe a door card would be over 2K though surely!

Maybe source a door card from a breaker?

Red looks like a defect unless someone was fiddling with the lock stalk for some reason.

Blue could be caused by anything, it's hard to tell.

Any update from a dealer about warranty repair?

Talked with the dealer again and they were still saying they cannot repair it without backorder a new door panel (~2000 dollars). Someone from Reddit suggested order another auto parts in this link:

This is a $100 and easily replaceable. Find the part# here https://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/...doorpanelspart

But the part here doesn't have any image so I'm not sure what that is.
