RaceChip GTS Black vs BM3 (X3M)

Does anyone have experience comparing the RC GTS Black vs BM3 Stage 1 E30 or Stage 1 93?

I have the GTS Black installed and it seems to make pretty noticeable difference but in the ever-lasting quest for more power, I am curious how the BM3 (Stage 1 93, or E30) compares. I ordered an ENET cable and I am thinking about pulling the trigger on the BM3 to compare but I wanted to get some feedback from you all if anyone has direct experience comparing the two. I will try to find an AW dyno to post numbers but here in OKC that might be a bit tricky. I can only find dynos for bikes and 4x2 bro-dozers.

I had the RC GTS Black def felt more power

for my year f97 there was no BM3 bc of the DME lock

i do know BM3 is more customizable since RC is just a plug and play

if you also are going to run E30 mix you will def feel a power difference just from the fuel alone as long as you do it correctly

Thanks for the reply, good stuff. I like the idea of having the ability to custom tune more than what RC thinks it needs. Makes me wonder what fuel blends RC supports. As far as E30, is there anything besides the mapping that I need to do?

I have a 21 x3mc, had a RC GTS Black, I mixed to E25 with just the RC.
Worked well and felt the difference.

I ended up pulling the RC and sent DME to femto for unlock, custom E30 tune is amazing compared to RC.

You can run E30 with just mapping, no hardware changes needed.

Thanks! I appreciate the information. I typically blend 93 and 101 to get me up to 98. I wish I could run E100 Race. It's currently $2.89/gal.

yea... for me E100 is now basically the same price per litre as 100 Ron pump fuel so it balances out. Only problem is I can get E100-E85 at the pump here.

So I take it that E30 isn't compatible with RC?

I ran up to E25 with RC and had no problems. But it’s not going to be some crazy difference in power vs pump fuel on the RC.

Sorry for reposting here, but we do have the same motors and I would REALLY appreciate some guidance 👍

Well, I had hoped to delay looking into performance mods much longer, but here goes....

My Toronto Red Metallic X4 M Competition has "finally" moved from order placed to "Scheduled for Production!" ✅😎👍🚘

What performance modifications do you use and what do you believe are to pros-and-cons of it?

I looked at RaceChip, specifically the RaceChip GTS Black + App

https://www.racechip.us/shop/bmw/x4-...waAhVYEALw_wcB

I see a "claim" from RaceChip of 604HP and up to +20% MPG. So far I have only just started my "research" phase (Retired Mechanical Engineer and Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.). It sounds pretty awesome to me for $719 without shipping/tax.....

I had a racechip GTS balck + bluetooth. Installed it and car did exactly as they advertised.

Used it for about a month as I decided to go full out with the car. I am selling my racechip if you decide to go that route.

Its a good performance gain for the price and the effort required for the install.

I'm leaning towards JB4, but how much would you like for it? 🚘
