Should Audi change its slogan?

Was just thinking about this because I saw BMW commercial and had no idea what Audis was before I googled it. Nothing against the brand but thought it was interesting

I didn't get it, the slogan from Audi is quite different to BMW (afaik) and why do you think about it?

Audi's slogan of Advancement through technology? Why would they need to change that?

unless audi's slogan is "drive slow in the fast lane and fling poop at your neighbors" I dont think they are similar to BMW's slogan

"Vorsprung durch Technik" is fairly ubiquitous and honestly a little more genuine than BMW's slogan these days.

The point of marketing is to know what the slogan is...I guarantee you that you had no idea prior to googling it and if you did, you were the only one in this thread.

Agreed - I had no idea what it was for Audi - had to Google it. So therefore, poor marketing.

I was at a BMW conference once and they told us to yell out slogans of popular companies. Point was many companies change their slogans and no one knows what it is but BMW had the same slogan since the 70's and everyone instantly knew it. AND we were all BMW employees but....you get the point

The thing is, while they move away from it, everyone else seems to move FASTER, so they still end up being (as far as mass market sedans are concerned) still the better drivers.

No matter how bloated your M3 feels its still probably the best 4 seater to crush an apple on an apex with.

I have COVID but I drove a Polestar last week and that thing is a complete boat. I have no idea how they expect people to pay $150K for them?? Felt like I was driving a 1967 Chevelle lol

Help me understand how you compare a Polestar to a muscle car. Not being an asshole, honestly curious. And I’m sorry you have COVID but what does that have to do with it?

Audi also has had the same slogan "Vorsprung durch Technik" since 1971 (in europe at least, don't know how long in the US)

TBH the Audi slogan is probably the only one I know regarding car brands to be old and have been used for ages next to BMW (Freude am Fahren).

VW ("das Auto" I believe) and Mercedes ("das Beste oder Nichts") are afaik from this millennium (and I think most car brand slogans I can think of aren't that old...).
Except for maybe Jaguar's "Grace Space Pace", a really old slogan (50's) but I don't know if that's even Jaguar's official slogan.
