Steering Feeling vague and Notchy F32

Hello,

About a year ago I swapped to 437M style wheels on my 2017 440i (larger in all directions compared to stock wheels).

I noticed overtime my steering feel started getting worse. On-Center feels vague, taking long winding turns makes steering wheel notchy and sticky, and overall just imprecise.

I swapped back to original wheels and the problems only slightly lessened. Could the larger wheels worn the Control Arm Bushings faster and cause worse handling? Or any other impact? Car has 41k miles.

Thank you

Check the thrust arm bushings. They are fluid filled and possibly are leaking. I’ve seen reports of then failing in 30-40k miles before. Consider replacing them with mono-balls. Millway has a “street” variety that maintains some damping material, instead of just a solid bushing like VAC.

I doubt the wheels had an impact. You’ll feel more harshness with a smaller sidewall tire, and that’s probably why you feel a difference.

I took a look and attached the picture, it appears leaking to me. I found and ordered the thrust arm and control arm bushings, I will give them a shot. Thanks for the help!
