Have their been any s58 failures?

Have been looking online for any instances of s58 failures (rod knock, bent rods, seized motors, spun bearings). Couldn't find any.

Are these just so new that instances aren't realized yet or are these truly the new era 2jz!

Unless someone ingested a lot of water I would not expect any of the items you mention. Running out of oil will cause rod bearings to spin on any engine. The S58 is not that old but the engine is built pretty stout with forged internals. I’d expect most everything to go before the engine but only time will tell.

G82 supposedly tuned with 900 hp bent rods. The thought is that it exceed a safe torque level rather than hp. Pic over in G80/G82 forum.

Oh wow. But ya 900 is massive.

I saw a video where they got 1049 HP no issue. But ya the problem would happen with high torque.
