X3M Gas Cap Blew Off @ Atco

Atco Dragway a LCI X3M blew the gas cap and gas door open when trying to launch. Was curious if anyone on here knows the guy or what happened. He didnt run again

Theoretically he could've boosted past the allowable pressure for the fuel tank vent valve. Which would theoretically slightly pressurize the fuel tank. But i don't think it should blow off the gas cap. Maybe it wasn't tightened sufficiently to begin with? Guess nobody will ever know

Yeah I agree. Couldn't have been on tight, and something with fuel pressure/boost pressure is my best guess. It had to be way too high to blow it off and shoot the door open. Hope the repairs aren't too bad
